My Favorite Animal from Noah's Ark

My Favorite Animal From Noah’s Ark

In Noah’s ark were two animals of every kind.

I can think of my favorite, that comes to mind.

I think of the lions, giraffes, gorillas and baboons.

And there were the cheetas,

gazelles and raccoons.

Birds, reptiles, amphibians…  So many to choose from!

I’m surprised that Noah and his family

 could feed them!

But if you were to ask, what may favorite animals would be…

There would a strong passion

 come from inside of me!

I don’t mean to “pick favorites” by the animal I’ve chosen!

My favorite is the dog! This is the one I have spoken!

He’s been called man’s best friend!  And for good reason!

They’ve proved faithful

and true throughout each season!

There are ones who are pets, and become a family friend!

There are those who help rescue people, trapped within!

Dogs come in such a variety, there’s much to choose from!

It’s no wonder how many people really love them!

I can’t think of no other animal that has blessed so many!

If there is one out there…

Can you think of any?

The dog.  This is my choice!  I’m willing to bet on it!

There’s one waiting to be your friend!  You can depend on it!

About the Poet
I and my wife have 4 grown children and currently live in the Pacific Northwest. I've spent much of my life doing volunteer work in the food distribution for the needy among local churches. Many of the poems I've written are a reflection of times of adversity as a reminder of God's love and faithfulness. I've found many opportunities to share my poems with those who are hurting and discouraged. I'm thankful for the reports of many of the poems touching people's lives. I hope that the poems included on Wordchimes will touch and bless your life too!
