Let's Take A Stand For Christ!
Viewed Last 24 Hours: 1 time

Let's Take A stand For Christ…

I’ve tried to stand for what’s right, not wrong.

Some I know reject me and say “I don’t belong.”

Jesus called me to faithfully follow him.

He wants me to daily choose to abstain from sin.

There’s been bad choices I made back when.

I’ve suffered with the consequences from sin.

I’ve chosen to stand for Jesus, no matter the cost.

Is it too much to think of his sacrifice on the cross?

There’s many from church, that criticize me.

They said they “want nothing to do with me.”

They say I’m “narrow minded,” and “old fashioned.”

They’re often moved by an ungodly compassion.

Choose you this day whom you will serve!

Be careful!  You may get what you

 truly deserve!

If a life of compromise is what you want to do.

Perhaps, God’s holy way of living you never knew!

We need to be separate from this world

 and it’s “charm,”

We need to sound God’s holy cry

 and be alarmed!

His holy way of living may seem unusual,

 to many around.

Let’s take a stand for Jesus,

 in every city and town!

The choice for me and you

must now be made!

Will we have victory in Christ,

or be sin’s slave?

About the Poet
I and my wife have 4 grown children and currently live in the Pacific Northwest. I've spent much of my life doing volunteer work in the food distribution for the needy among local churches. Many of the poems I've written are a reflection of times of adversity as a reminder of God's love and faithfulness. I've found many opportunities to share my poems with those who are hurting and discouraged. I'm thankful for the reports of many of the poems touching people's lives. I hope that the poems included on Wordchimes will touch and bless your life too!
