The Harvest Is Ready!

The Harvest Is Ready!

Isn't it time we stop pretending?

Let’s come to the cross

and start remembering.

Remembering why...  on Sunday,

 we come to one place.

As an expression of God's

 love and grace.

We must reach beyond

 our four walls.

Even if this takes us to homes...

or shopping malls.

If we don't reach out beyond

 our church building.

What kind of example

 for Christ are we living?

We must step beyond

 out one "cliques."

And reach the lost,

the needy and the sick.

Let’s start now!  With no delay!

Let’s really believe Christ

could come today?

We're all called to be

 "fishers of men."

If others are to ever be born again.

The time is short.

 Christ' coming is at hand.

We must preach the gospel

throughout the land.

The harvest is ready.

The laborers are few.

What... for Christ' sake...

Are you going to do?

About the Poet
I and my wife have 4 grown children and currently live in the Pacific Northwest. I've spent much of my life doing volunteer work in the food distribution for the needy among local churches. Many of the poems I've written are a reflection of times of adversity as a reminder of God's love and faithfulness. I've found many opportunities to share my poems with those who are hurting and discouraged. I'm thankful for the reports of many of the poems touching people's lives. I hope that the poems included on Wordchimes will touch and bless your life too!
