A Letter To My Parents...
Viewed Last 24 Hours: 1 time

A Message to My Parents…

My parents taught me to worship Christ alone.

He was to be the Lord of our heart and home.

My parents would take me to church each week.

We all would sit in the pews as the pastor preached.

We had a love and respect for God and another.

We had good times, along with my brothers.

There were a lot of good memories of the past.

We were taught of a love that I know will last.

Now my parents are older and gone their own path…

But there are questions that I want to ask.

“What happened to our focus and attention?”

It seems like our lives are in a different direction.

“Do you still love Jesus like you did when I was a boy?”

“Are the things of God still what you enjoy???”

“Has the love of Jesus been growing cold?”

“Is this what happens as you’re getting old?”

“What happened to the fire that once burned?”

“Are the things of God still your concern?”

“What kind of Godly example have you been giving?”

“How much of this has affected your living?”

These are questions I hope ring loud and clear!

The coming of Jesus is so very near!

Please return to the cross and the Lord above!

Make certain that Jesus is your first love!

Drop the uncertainties and sins of the past!

Enjoy a relationship with Jesus that’ll last!

Though our days are numbered and but a few…

I still love and appreciate the BOTH OF YOU!

About the Poet
I and my wife have 4 grown children and currently live in the Pacific Northwest. I've spent much of my life doing volunteer work in the food distribution for the needy among local churches. Many of the poems I've written are a reflection of times of adversity as a reminder of God's love and faithfulness. I've found many opportunities to share my poems with those who are hurting and discouraged. I'm thankful for the reports of many of the poems touching people's lives. I hope that the poems included on Wordchimes will touch and bless your life too!
