Do We Trust In God Anymore?

Do We Trust In God Anymore?

Many across this country are trying in pure vanity.

To remove anything that’s about the God of Christianity.

Many claim that anything of God, may “offend.”

An atheistic kind of lifestyle, is what they defend.

The fool has said in his heart; “God doesn’t live. “

A lot of foolish talk is what they often give.

As they debate over what’s “constitutional.”

Their minds are being twisted, and are delusional.

There’s a God, who created this world and heavens above.

This same God can fill our lives with his eternal love.

This same God has put eternity in the hearts of man.

His way of living, many will never try to understand.

This God is one that our country once taught in the schools.

Now, we try to define our own set of morals and rules.

We often talk about all of the problems of this nation.

And often, don’t want to acknowledge the God of salvation!

Who shall we trust?  God, or our fearless politicians?

No wonder, this country is in a terrible situation!

We need to repent and seek God’s mercy and forgiveness.

We need to read his word, and ask him to come and help us!

God is and will always be the solution for what ails us!

He’s the Lord God!  He’s alive!  And will never fail us!

Please dear Lord…  May your truth bring a holy conviction.

May people across America, give to you, their heart’s dedication!

May the words; “In God we trust,” inspire us today.

And encourage us to honor him in what we do and say!

About the Poet
I and my wife have 4 grown children and currently live in the Pacific Northwest. I've spent much of my life doing volunteer work in the food distribution for the needy among local churches. Many of the poems I've written are a reflection of times of adversity as a reminder of God's love and faithfulness. I've found many opportunities to share my poems with those who are hurting and discouraged. I'm thankful for the reports of many of the poems touching people's lives. I hope that the poems included on Wordchimes will touch and bless your life too!
