Have I Betrayed the God Who Loves M
Viewed Last 24 Hours: 1 time

Have I Betrayed The God Who Loves Me?

Have I betrayed the God who loves me?

He’s the one who gave his life for me!

Have I betrayed the love that’s been extended?

Have I turned my back on the one I “friended?”

Have I taken the love that was freely given?

Have I ever asked him if I can be forgiven?

Have I made a mockery of the cross that Jesus died on?

Has it been his loving arms that I have cried on?

Have I forgotten the good things that he gave me.

He remains faithful, and never did betray me!

I’m so sorry that I’ve sinned and let Jesus down.

Where I’ve sinned, grace much more abounds!

I bow my head and ask for Christ’ forgiveness.

May he cleanse me with his righteousness!

Please forgive me Jesus!   I have betrayed you!

I ask for your help, because I really need you!

You were once my first love.  I really know it!

I also know that there’s been times that I’ve blown it.

Thank you for forgiving and understanding where I am.

I know that you’re patient and won’t let go of my hand!

Because of your love, I’ve been made complete.

As I lay down my sin and worries at your feet!

You are and will always be the one I should turn to!

For everything you’ve done, I sure do thank you!

I praise you my Lord!  My life isn’t the same!

I’ve found all that I need in your precious name!

About the Poet
I and my wife have 4 grown children and currently live in the Pacific Northwest. I've spent much of my life doing volunteer work in the food distribution for the needy among local churches. Many of the poems I've written are a reflection of times of adversity as a reminder of God's love and faithfulness. I've found many opportunities to share my poems with those who are hurting and discouraged. I'm thankful for the reports of many of the poems touching people's lives. I hope that the poems included on Wordchimes will touch and bless your life too!
