Fisherman Mr. Jones

 Fisherman Mr. Jones

There was a fisherman ,
by the name of Mr. Jones.
He picked his fish clear
down to the bones.

A mighty fisherman.
He was called to be!
He caught them by the hundreds...
  Yes sir' ee!

He brought 'em home, to smoke and bake 'em.
They smelled so good,
you could almost taste 'em!

There were people comin' from miles around...
To taste the best smoked fish,
this side of town!

Mr. Jones became quite famous,
as I've been told.
His smoked fish became
more valuable than gold!

There's a lesson from Mr. Jones,
ya' to be learnin'!
Be careful of the fish in the fry pan,
ya been stirrin'!

If it's salmon, halibut, or whatever it may be...
If it ain't from Mr. Jones...
It ain't for me!!!

About the Poet
I and my wife have 4 grown children and currently live in the Pacific Northwest. I've spent much of my life doing volunteer work in the food distribution for the needy among local churches. Many of the poems I've written are a reflection of times of adversity as a reminder of God's love and faithfulness. I've found many opportunities to share my poems with those who are hurting and discouraged. I'm thankful for the reports of many of the poems touching people's lives. I hope that the poems included on Wordchimes will touch and bless your life too!
