2 a.m. at Timberlane

The forest gazed upon the sky
with quietness of woodland eye
transfixed by iridescent light-
moonbeams ablaze within the night.

The lake gazed at the forest, still-
white-washed to the fluorescent hill
and would not...could not look away,
so mesmerized by lambent rays.

The sky gazed long into the lake
enamored by the moonlight's wake-
a shimmer seemingly set deep
stirred calmy where the willows weep.

Two sleeping loons awake to glow
of lucidness midst indigo
and enter quietly - the lake,
illuminated in moon's wake...
