Other Poems by Lucia Kiersch Haase

Weathering the storms,
the forest thrives-
trees standing tall
expectant of sunshine.

There is no resistance,
in growth - in change-
no violence or injustice
rooted in ground.

The breeze stirs, the wind blows
bending and breaking-
and yet, the trees thrive
up in a positive spiral.

Who is to say how long they have-
how much time among multitudes
each one aspires to
in day to day reckoning.

There is no unrest;
the world is their place.
It's what they make it
heralding peace in God's holy name.
