Across the Fields

Across the Fields

Across the fields, an early morning haze

makes woods mirage-like past the growing corn;

a winded nearby willow gently sways

across the lawn that beads of dew adorn.

There's cricket songs prolonging from the night

and sermon chirping - birds awakening;

there's quiet praising from the west - the light

of sun arising on its golden wings.

Long grasses stir nearby the lazy stream;

one tiny fish darts swiftly 'neath a rock.

Sun silvers waters lending shining gleam

amidst the silent ticking of the clock

held by the hand of Him whose hallowed voice

calls all His loving children to rejoice...
