Faith Now Gets the Call

Faith Now Gets the Call

I haven’t traveled far and wide
Nor have I seen it all,
But evidence compiled I’ve tried
And faith now gets the call.

What carries more or less the weight
To prove a point or two,
I’ve carried, but did not abate
The weight of doubt that grew.

I’ve ciphered facts both up and down,
Infinitesimals too,
My final sums add to a frown,
It’s time to trust in You.

To trust and hear You clearly speak
Like wind-waves o’er the field
That bend the grass, so I as meek
Will bend to You and yield.

To trust in You both day and night
For all my needs between,
For life and hope and love and light
Will reign and keep me green.

As green and fresh a tender shoot
Upon Your sturdy vine
Where life-blood blossoms into fruit
And purpose is divine.

About the Poet
Husband, father, grandfather, and each title is my joy. As a youth, poetry was a means to express the inexpressable. I was attracted to (and still am) the beauty and brevity of verse. All flows out from God, and like a proper prayer, can flow back.
