Love

Love is what our Saviour showed
When on a tree He died;
And now that same Love can be ours
If in Him we'll abide.

Love that's true seeks not its own,
It never dwells on wrong;
It envieth not, it hopes all things,
It's Love that suffers long.

It's Love that knows us as we are,
With all our sins laid bare;
It's Love that sees inside our hearts
And yet says, "I still care!"

It's Love that made our Saviour say:
"Not My will, but Thine" ~
And all the hatred in the world
Could not blot out its shine.

It's Love the world's not worthy of,
It's Love beyond all price;
It made our Lord and Saviour pay
The final sacrifice.

So, on this special day of Love,
All whose hearts are His
Should praise "that Name above all names"
For being what Love is!

--Connie

"God is love
and he that dwelleth in love
dwelleth in God,
and God in him."
(I John 4:16b)

About the Poet
IN MEMORIAM I'm just a servant of the Lord that wants to magnify Him through poetry, and to cause others to focus on Him.
