Because I Love You

Because I Love You

Because I love You
I'll apologize
Though anger in me burn,
I'll tell someone "I'm sorry"...
Though it is not my turn;
I'll speak with love and kindness,
Though feelings in me churn...
I'll set my pride aside
Because I love You.

Because I love You
I'll forgive someone
When they have done me wrong,
I'll not give in to grudges...
I'll keep my spirit strong;
And though they turn their back on me,
I'll gladly suffer long...
I'll set my rights aside
Because I love You.

Because I love You,
Keep my focus staid
To always choose Your pace,
To put no one above You...
To keep You in first place;
To set Your *hands* aside, Lord God,
And seek Your Holy *Face*...
Hold me beneath Your wings
Because I love You.

--Connie

"Keep me as the apple of Your eye;
hide me in the shadow of Your wings..."

(Psalm 17:8, NIV)

About the Poet
IN MEMORIAM I'm just a servant of the Lord that wants to magnify Him through poetry, and to cause others to focus on Him.
