That Day
Viewed Last 24 Hours: 1 time

By Connie Hinnen Cook
Other Poems by Connie Hinnen Cook

That Day,
Now so long ago,
Trapped me, in its way;
Time was frozen, time stood still,
Locked me in...
That Day.

That Day,
Told she'd left this earth,
Left and gone away;
Left without a last farewell,
Gone from me...
That Day.

Couldn't eat,
Couldn't smile,
Pain was too immense;
Couldn't think,
Couldn't sleep,
Nothing here made sense.

That Day,
Now so long ago,
Too stunned then to pray;
Her with *Jesus* evermore ~
Bearing me, lifting me,
Holding me, loving me,
Shielding and sustaining me,
*Keeping me*...
That Day.

-Connie
August 2nd, her Coronation Day

(II Timothy 1:12b, KJV)
"...for I know Whom I have believed
and am persuaded that He is able
to keep that which I have committed
unto Him against
that day."

About the Poet
IN MEMORIAM I'm just a servant of the Lord that wants to magnify Him through poetry, and to cause others to focus on Him.
