It's Time
Viewed Last 24 Hours: 1 time

By Michael P. Johnson
Other Poems by Michael P. Johnson

              It’s Time

The finger’s writing on the wall

God’s spelling out His word

Explaining them who’ve heard the call

Should practice what they’ve heard

Salvation’s bride should now awake

Should place in Christ her trust

When all the earth begins to shake

God’s Wind will stir the dust

Each nation’s lost must now be found

Blind eyes should learn to see

The faithful few standing their ground

Must stand by God’s decree

Vast lofty trees will wave in doubt

Mountains tremble and shake

Thinking to know what life’s about

Amidst the global quake

Popular is, who stands for nought

Seeking the world to please

Whilst they who trust in Christ’s report

Will humbly bow their knees

They’ll pray for insight from The King

They’ll seek His guiding Light

They’ll ask The Lord which song’s to sing

Other’s to join the fight

They’ll strive to serve by light of day

With pending night in view

Regardless what the mountains say

What thick tall trees may do

Countless from truth will seek to hide –Gen.3:9

Failing to understand

Some Heaven’s called will run outside –Mal.3:2

Quitting Salvation’s hand.…

                  High Time

Allow no foolish pride remain

Let arrogance fade and die

Let them who say they’re born again

Rise up in Christ on high –Isa.60:1

The devil works both day and night

He’ll steal whom God will save

He’ll cheat them of their crown of Light

And lead them to the grave

Not seldom; do God’s servants cry

Nor rare may servants grieve

Hating to see a sinner die

Still blind this world to leave

Yet some will say it’s not of God –Mt.23:34

We speak for selfish gain –1Ti.6:5

With gnashing teeth they’ll wink and nod –Act.7:54-60

Doing work of Cain –Gen.4:8

God’s servants, with their tongues they’ll kill –Lk.21:17

Outraged, they’ll cast their stones –Act.14:19

Thinking to do The Father’s will –Jn.16:2

These tombs of dead men’s bones –Mt.23:27

The devil’s robbed them of their sight

Chock-full of self conceit

They’ll say our words are not of Light –Mk.13:12

And cast us on the street –Jn.16:2

But when their hue and cries are still - Act.14:2

When rebels hold their breath –Ps.46:10

Let’s pray they’ll bow to Jesus’ will

Escaping certain death

Let’s pray they’ll walk Salvation’s path –Mt.23:39

We’ll see no more their past –Col.3:13

So grateful not to see God’s wrath

They know The Truth at last…..

About the Poet
I never wrote a word of poetry in my life. Till the day Jesus took my hand and touched my soul.....I invite your response. However most poems are not about me! Very few are. But the feed-back good, bad or indifferent is always desired. Not meant to offend, but I write about many things in many a guise. Of life, death, lost, found, saved, backsliders, new comers, repenting souls, doubting hearts, heathens, Christians, fire, water, Satan's daughter, wallowing in sin, saved, made sound walking in Light, graceful righteous. Suffering, ecstatic, bored, excited, sad, delighted, Sick, well, lame, able, living, dying, etc. etc. etc. Writing about anything, everything and everyone as the spirit leads. All meant to reveal, waken, revive, encourage, shame, help. Gladden, pick up, exalt, portrait, liberate. Again over 99% of my work is not about me. Although at times I write as though I were or am. Speaking e.g. in the first person. This is quite common even in the bible itself. Prophets speak of themselves, then God speaks, again the prophet, then God......Quite often it's difficult to distinguish whom it is that at any given time is speaking or narrating.
