When Will I Be Used?

When Will I Be Used (1)

Upon the shelf, God’s servants while

Like books gathering dust

Imagine Satan’s joyful smile

Or Heavens’ sheer disgust

God’s servants say, “Does no one care?

To Christ I too belong

Yet some who have the highest chair            Mt.23:1-

Won’t let me sing my song

Should one not rise when Light has come

When glory’s all around

I can’t just sit as though I’m dumb               Eph.5:19-21

Or by some demon bound

From You this holy gift is mine

My cup You overfill

Yet fruit to bear within The Vine               Jn.15:2

Won’t come if I sit still

I need to give and share my best               1Co.14:26

Yet somehow Lord, it seems

So many deem to end my quest

And shatter all my dreams

At ease, most sit in church content

Their deeds may count to nought

But though; my God, I’m just not meant

To squander what You’ve brought

Its not in pride I say these things

You know my heart is true

For You alone, my soul now sings

For no one else but You!

Yet still reserved upon the bench

I sit here so confused

To You, it must be such a stench

Lord when will I be used?..…

When Will I Be Used (2) 1Cor.12

But if I’m wrong, please show The Way

Please hear Your servant’s cry

I can’t afford to go astray

So many do; and die

I know to me You’ve spoken Lord

I know I’m of Your Seed

And so I know I can’t afford

To give Your Word no heed

Yet some above me show no fear

Or else they’d change their tune

They see Your whole church sitting here

While outside falls to ruin

They need to know The Truth my God

To eat and have their fill

Reveal to them Your Healing Rod

Reveal my Father’s will

Perhaps they think I’ve filled with pride

Through songs Your servant sings

But You my God, who reigns inside

Will bring about these things

Your will on earth, must yet be done

By great; and by the least

To glorify Your living Son

And help defeat the beast

We all; are children, in Your hand

The bond, as well as free

When this, our leaders understand       Lk.20:46

A better church we’ll be

Lord; use each child, as You see fit

As servants of The Light

We’re here to do far more than sit

We’re here to serve and fight…..

About the Poet
I never wrote a word of poetry in my life. Till the day Jesus took my hand and touched my soul.....I invite your response. However most poems are not about me! Very few are. But the feed-back good, bad or indifferent is always desired. Not meant to offend, but I write about many things in many a guise. Of life, death, lost, found, saved, backsliders, new comers, repenting souls, doubting hearts, heathens, Christians, fire, water, Satan's daughter, wallowing in sin, saved, made sound walking in Light, graceful righteous. Suffering, ecstatic, bored, excited, sad, delighted, Sick, well, lame, able, living, dying, etc. etc. etc. Writing about anything, everything and everyone as the spirit leads. All meant to reveal, waken, revive, encourage, shame, help. Gladden, pick up, exalt, portrait, liberate. Again over 99% of my work is not about me. Although at times I write as though I were or am. Speaking e.g. in the first person. This is quite common even in the bible itself. Prophets speak of themselves, then God speaks, again the prophet, then God......Quite often it's difficult to distinguish whom it is that at any given time is speaking or narrating.
