Tears
Viewed Last 24 Hours: 1 time

By Michael P. Johnson

           Tears (1)

I’m so distressed, can no one see?

I’m so in need of love

Is no one there who thinks of me

Is there no God above?

Can God, if real hear my prayer?

Will He perceive my need?

Would He consider words to share?

If I to Him would plead

In tears, I pray beside by bed

Both day and night I groan

How much I’ve wished that I were dead

Oh God I’m so alone

Even in crowds, I’ve often found

That no one sees my tears

Amidst the throng Is empty sound

And so it’s been for years

All this and more, I’ve had to bear

Can no one lend a hand?

Does no one know does no one care?

Does no one understand?

At times, I think I’m all cried out

Yet deep inside I’ll feel

Life’s tears return to make me doubt

That Jesus Christ is real

Can joy, be just a prayer away?

Can words, reach God above?

Can I obtain some peace today?

Can I receive Your love?

Please show me God if You are real

Please hear me as I cry

If God my sorrow now can feel

Then please don’t pass me by…..

            Tears (2)

It’s not for gain I come to You

Nor for this life, I fear

Alone the truth, have I in view

That’s why I’m crying here

To You, I’m calling out today

My sadness is too much

Please hear these words to You I pray

Come give Your healing touch

Of course, more tears are bound to fall

If I don’t find release

So hear this sinner’s humble call

Please grant my soul some peace

Soften this heart of stone great Lord

How far I’ve gone astray

I’ve erred so much, I can’t afford

To turn from You today

The hurts that flood these eyes of mine

The fears, that rent my soul

Allow me drink redemption’s wine

Please come and make me whole

Dry up these tears that fall as dew

Send forth Your guiding Light

Caress this child so close to You

Till fear and doubt take flight

I pray my God You’ll set me free

To walk Your chosen path

Please touch these eyes that I may see

To flee the coming wrath

Please say, I’ve no more need to cry

Forgive my wayward past

Grant me The Gift that none can buy

To know You First & Last ..…

           Tears (3)

How vivid still, I now recall

From whence before I came

The tears, which night and day would fall

Have gone with all my shame

You took the evil part of me

You took away the pain

You took them with You on the tree

And cleansed my every stain

You came as friend, to dry my tears

You showed me Heaven’s Door

You broke my yoke, tore all my ties

That I should cry no more

Now for myself, I shed no tears

For others yet I weep

For love to take their doubts and fears

And wake them from their sleep

That through Your word, they would believe

Their eyes would see The Light

They’d see the one, who would deceive

And put him swift to flight

Forsaking all in life that’s wrong

From death, You’ll have them part

You’ll change their groans, for joyful song

They’ll sing with truthful heart

From valleys deep, You’ll have them climb

They’ll scale Your holy hill

For this; I cry that in Your time

Their cups with grace You’ll fill

Oh yes my God, for these I cry

Yet know no tear’s in vain

In faith I’ll serve until I die

Or till You come again..…

About the Poet
I never wrote a word of poetry in my life. Till the day Jesus took my hand and touched my soul.....I invite your response. However most poems are not about me! Very few are. But the feed-back good, bad or indifferent is always desired. Not meant to offend, but I write about many things in many a guise. Of life, death, lost, found, saved, backsliders, new comers, repenting souls, doubting hearts, heathens, Christians, fire, water, Satan's daughter, wallowing in sin, saved, made sound walking in Light, graceful righteous. Suffering, ecstatic, bored, excited, sad, delighted, Sick, well, lame, able, living, dying, etc. etc. etc. Writing about anything, everything and everyone as the spirit leads. All meant to reveal, waken, revive, encourage, shame, help. Gladden, pick up, exalt, portrait, liberate. Again over 99% of my work is not about me. Although at times I write as though I were or am. Speaking e.g. in the first person. This is quite common even in the bible itself. Prophets speak of themselves, then God speaks, again the prophet, then God......Quite often it's difficult to distinguish whom it is that at any given time is speaking or narrating.
