Old Lady Poem

Sometimes I wish that
The elevator had chairs
And that lobby, seats.

I could sit, relax
While riding it up or down
But I’d have to rise.

Is that lazyness?
There are only just four stops.
Well - thinking only.

My eighty-seventh
A birthday I’ve dreaded so,
But now isn’t bad.

I praise God for years
He’s guided - carried me through.
He’ll do that for you -

IF  you give your heart to Him.

About the Poet
I asked Jesus to be my Savior when I was 11 - that was almost 70 years ago as of June 2015. My husband and I had been married for 54 years as of March 2010 before he went Home to Heaven, and we have one son & daughter in law and 3 grandchildren.
