What is Christmas?

What Is Christmas?

Yes, those horse-drawn sleighs are very pretty,
Gliding on the snow while bells jingle.
That brings memories of long, long ago.
It’s fun in country or city.

Decorations, parties are fun, that’s true,
But does it last for a lifetime?
Are the host and hostess tired but empty,
For lasting joy have not a clue?

Most Christmas programs on TV today
Show decorations and romance.
Some, somehow think, if a baby is born
That’s about Christmas anyway.

Christmas is about that sinless baby
Born to Mary as God promised.
She was obedient -  HE was sinless.
There are no ifs, ands or maybes.

O Come, let us adore Him - Christ the Lord
And praise God for churches and choirs
Who tell the true Christmas story each year -
Great truth - and Jesus is adored .

Luke 2:1-18
