I Didn’t Come to Stay

We long for Home where we can stay,
No fear of being mistreated -
May go to “airports” on our way..
We focus - not being defeated.

Each hour long that the clock ticks away
Brings this body closer to Home.
It wasn’t meant we’d come here to stay -
We are headed there to our Home Sweet Home.

Permanent Home where we can rest,
No fear of being destroyed,
Looking forward to Lord Jesus’ best,
To His bright Heaven we’ll be “deployed.”

Jesus will be the Light we need
As we live out our lives below.
He’ll guide us through all the “rocks  and weeds.”
Ask Him for wisdom and He’ll bestow.

About the Poet
I asked Jesus to be my Savior when I was 11 - that was almost 70 years ago as of June 2015. My husband and I had been married for 54 years as of March 2010 before he went Home to Heaven, and we have one son & daughter in law and 3 grandchildren.
