Quentin S. Clingerman Obituary
 
Mr. Quentin S. Clingerman, 85, of Walkersville, died Monday, June 5, 2017 at University of Maryland Medical Center. He was the husband of the late Barbara Millstead Clingerman, who predeceased him on June 2, 1994.

Born March 30, 1932 in Youngstown, Ohio, he was the son of the late Stanley and Hattie (Schenck) Clingerman. 

Mr. Clingerman worked as an educator/media specialist with Montgomery County Public School System for many years prior to his retirement. He was an active member of the Church of the Nazarene, volunteered with the literacy council of Frederick County, mentored others and was very generous with his time and resources.

He is survived by three daughters, Vicki Lynn Sherman, and husband, Woody, of Monrovia; Lori Anne Ballew and husband, Jim, of Kansas City, Mo; Bambi Sue Steelman and husband, Tony, of Darlington, MD; 13 grandchildren, Joshua (Laura), Nathan (Kate), Bethany, and Rebekah Sherman; Andrew (Cori) Ballew, Tiffany (Issac) Irby, and Chris, Amber, Cassie and David Ballew; Austin (Julianne), Davis and Lindsey Steelman; three great-grandchildren, Koi, Sephira, and Quinn; three siblings, Doris Irons, Barbara Tshantz, and Lynn Clingerman; and many other beloved family members.

He was predeceased by a great-grandson, William James; and six siblings, Lila, Oscar, Esta, Richard, Kermit, and David Clingerman.

The family will receive friends from 2 to 3 p.m. on Friday, June 9, 2017 at the Frederick First Church of the Nazarene, 7899 Opossumtown Pike, Frederick, where a celebration of life service will begin at 3 p.m.

Interment will be private. 

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Hospice of Frederick County, P.O. Box 1799, Frederick, MD 21702; or to Hospice Caring Inc., 518 S. Frederick Ave, Gaithersburg, MD 20877.

Arrangements are with Stauffer Funeral Home, Frederick, and Stauffer Crematory, Inc. Expressions of sympathy may be shared with the family at www.staufferfuneralhome.com.
