Welcome Back Que (POEM)

Welcome Back Que (POEM)

Awake at 5 AM I was
and walked right toward the lake.
The quietness surrounded me
but whispers it could make,
"Welcome back Que."

The breeze was first, so silently.
Could I have heard it pray?
Right through the grasses I could hear,
the whispers plain as day,
"Welcome back Que."

The grasses said in harmony,
as if by some composer,
as footsteps, a bit slower, heard
the whispers ever closer,
"Welcome back Que."

Then by the lake those little rolls
upon the water's edge,
was just like they were 'toasting' him.
They whispered as a pledge.
"Welcome back Que."

The ducks were there and they would quack.
A frog was somewhere near.
The trees and bushes all chimed in
and all had whispered clear,
"Welcome back Que."

But that's not all.  No, that's not all.
I heard some folks rejoice!
Yes, then I heard his Word Chime friends
in unison, one voice,
"Welcome back Que!"

(by louis gander and the whole WC gang)
We're all glad to see you back Que.
Get well soon!

About the Poet
Born in Richland Center, Wisconsin in 1954. It's the poem's message that matters- not the poet.
