GOD COMMANDS THE LIGHT TO SHINE (spine poem)

Dedicated to my dear friends at Black Oak Baptist Church, Gary, IN

In the beginning Almighty GOD created light and all that is good.
In quick response to his COMMANDS of many “Let there be’s”
a void was transformed into THE perfect place until man rebelled.
Not deterred God sent the LIGHT of the World, his Son to impart
the exact image of Himself TO show again the perfection which
can be revealed as God’s SHINE kindles the spark of our faith.

inspired by 2 Corinthians 4:6-7

About the Poet
Growing older with some pains and discomfort, graying hair, glasses, partial plate and hearing aids but with complete assurance of my eternal domain. Saved by choice by Gods free grace by Jesus life, death and resurrection. Born and bred in the Bluegrass State for 24 years, I crossed the Ohio River and became a Hoosier forever thereafter until that time God calls me to my heavenly home. Christian for fifty-five plus years. Church musician and SS teacher for most all of my Wednesdays and Sundays. Public school teacher for thirty-six school terms; retired with a class now of three grandchildren off and on during the week. Wife for half my life to the same superman. Mama to two unique sons. Mother-in-law to a fine daughter; Nana to one darling girl and two handsome guys. God has blessed me abundantly; thank you, Father. God quiets my hackles; God quickens my heart; God quells my hunger. Blessed be His holy name.
