Season of Sorrow

SEASON OF SORROW

Waves of grief sweep over me

tears run down my face,

sudden sadness floods my soul

I wish I could erase.

But when you are so sad,

there is no quick relief

or instant magic potion

to suppress your painful grief!

My spirit rests in Jesus

and I call upon His name,

life goes on as usual

yet nothing is the same.

It's not a lack of faith

or weakness on our part,

grief must run its course

it's a matter of the heart.

Jesus wept for Lazarus

as natural as can be...

He will gently comfort you

just like He comforts me.

There's no shame in sorrow,

allow yourself to cry...

Jesus knows your sadness,

because He can identify!

*Written while coping with grief after my late husband's death in 2007...God's grace is sufficient, I can attest to that 100%...God has since sent me a new, wonderful mate and I give Him the praise!

About the Poet
Christian since 1973, widowed in 2007, but by the divine appt. of God, I married a wonderful, godly widower in Oct. 2010. Three grown, married sons and eight grandchildren. My first love is Jesus who inspires my pen, for apart from Him I can do nothing! I desire to honor the Lord and edify readers thru poetry He inspires.
