Nan's Calendar

It was Mark Twain who said "my problem with the Bible is not deciphering the passages I do not understand, but in applying those I do understand."
Yes, it is easier said than done, but when we remember that each time we apply in our daily lives, the Ten Commandments and the absolute truths in the Bible, we are performing acts of love to others and for our God who loves us beyond our comprehension.
As I ponder the history and the meaning of Valentine's Day, I know the greatest gift I can give my husband, my children, family, friends, and neighbors near and far is the gift of applying the passages in the Bible I understand. It's one thing to say "I know", but it is another thing entirely to turn knowledge into wisdom by applying what we know. How can we believe something we have not known? How can we apply something we have not believed?
For this reason I kneel before the Father, from whom his whole family in heaven and on earth derives its name. I pray that out of his glorious riches he may strengthen you with power through his Spirit in your inner being, so that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith. And I pray that you, being rooted and established in love, may have power, together with all the saints, to grasp how wide and long and high and deep is the love of Christ, and to know this love that surpasses knowledge - that you may be filled to the measure of all the fullness of God. Now to him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to his power that is at work within us, to him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations, for ever and ever! Amen. Ephesians 3:14-21
His power is at work within us and we are to use this power, apply this power accordingly. Grasp it! Share it! Remember, love isn't love 'til you give it away! To God be the glory!

NOTES
Today has been a sunny day with a high temperature of 68 degrees. Low temperaure last night was 39 degrees. I attended Sunday School and Worship Service this morning. Our speaker today was Marcus Whitworth from Henryetta, Oklahoma. Pastor J. T. Carnell was in Olathe, Kansas, to see his grandson dedicated. Marcus did an outstanding job singing and speaking in the service this morning. I would like to write more about it but it is getting late so I had better finish the Good Things and send them out before some people go to bed. I had lunch at home and took a nap this afternoon. We did not have church services tonight since our pastor is out of town.
The cats are fine. Emmy was just here in the den with Little Girl and me.
At 10:00 p.m. skies are fair with a temperature of 57 dgrees. I will see you next time.

Today has been a sunny day with a high temperature of 61 degrees. Low temperature last night was 23 degrees. My cleaning lady came at 11:10 a.m. I went to lunch while she cleaned the house. I had lunch with Charley. I went to the post office. I took a nap this afternoon. There is still a little snow left but not much.
The cats are fine. Little Girl and Rascal took a nap with me this afternoon. Little Girl is in her usual place. The other cats are elsewhere but they are all accounted for.
At 9:30 p.m. skies are fair with a temperature of 48 degrees. Have a Wonderful Sunday! I will see you next time.

Today has been a sunny day with a high temperature of 49 degrees. Low temperature last night was 13 degrees. Most of the streets are now clear of snow. I had lunch with Charley and Bill. Then to the post office. I had a nap early in the afternoon. Later I went to Sandy Isenhower's office to pick up my tax return. I made my weekly trip to Walmart to pick up cat food and supplies.
The cats are fine. Little Girl took a nap with me this afternoon and she is now in her usual place here in the den. Rascal is asleep in the recliner. The others are asleep or resting in different parts of the house.
At 9:30 p.m. skies are fair with a temperature of 34 degrees. I will see you next time.
