A Cause for Rejoicing

A Cause for Rejoicing

When angels walk the silent grave
and grasp the threads of silken strings,
the heavens rejoice in glorious praise
for Christ our savior and conquering king.
The children of God are drawn above
from murky depths of the earthen floor,
to rise in flight with the graceful dove
and rest upon salvation shores.
Jesus beacons from the temple gates
his holy presence as a rising sun,
the garden nurtures the sealed fates
of those who heed the beating drums,
and find within the rhythmic light
divine joy of humbled sight.
