Looking to God for Mercy
A dream it seemed
The questions
Evoking an aura of Danger
Down it came crashing
With full effects of reality
The Road looks familiar
Yet I'm lost
The memory bank is blank
Conflicting emotions . . .
Fright subdued by
False hope
Ravage my being
Threatening to drive me insane
A soul which knew no religion is
Looking to God for mercy
Good Things
Thursday, March 27, 2014GOD SPEAKS TO US THROUGH HIS HOLY WORD:
4 For great is the Lord and most worthy of praise; He is to be feared above all gods. 5 For all the gods of the nations are idols, but the Lord made the heavens. 6 Splendor and majesty are before Him; strength and glory are in His sanctuary. - Psalm 96:4-6(New International Version).
GOD'S PROMISE TO US FROM HIS HOLY WORD:
16 Never again will they hunger; never again will they thirst. The sun will not beat upon them, nor any scorching heat. 17 For the Lamb at the center of the throne will be their shepherd; He will lead them to springs of living water. And God will wipe away every tear from their eyes. - Revelation 7:16-17(New International Version).
THOUGHTS TO REMEMBER:
Many people will walk in and out of your life; only true friends will leave footprints in your heart. - From Thank You For Being a Friend -
Obedience to God is an expression of our love for God. - From Our Daily Bread -
The whole worth of a kind deed lies in the love that inspired it. - From Reminisce Magazine -
NOTES:
Today has been partly cloudy with a high temperature of 75 degrees. I had lunch with Charley. Tomorrow is the soup luncheon. I went to the post office. I came home for a few minutes and then went back out to Walmart for my weekly supplies and cat food. I took a nap with Smokey. I put food outside for the animals at around 6:00 p.m. Thanks for your emails and thanks for reading the Good Things.
The cats are fine. Lucy is lying in the floor and Rascal is on a desk near me. I have seen all of the cats this evening.
Have a nice Friday.

Edith Agboo
It pays to know HimThey speak out their opinions
They are not always wrong
Most times we have no backups
Yet it pays to know God
They say you have no knowledge
They are right only when you are blind
By ignorance not having this knowledge
It pays to know Him
They say you've got no hope
They are right when you reject this
If you believe no one believe God
It pays to know Him
They say you have no anchor
They are right when you let him go
If you are holding nothing hold God
It pays to know Him
They say you have nothing
They are right when you are far
From the One that has everything
It pays to know Him
They say you are a fool
They are right when you doubt God
His ways are not our ways
It pays to know Him
Listen to the voice of experience
Having gone through and through
One truth emerged in all
It pays to know God...

Wednesday, March 26, 2014GOD SPEAKS TO US THROUGH HIS HOLY WORD:
1 Praise the Lord! Blessed is the man who fears the Lord, who finds great delight in His commands. 2 His children will be mighty in the land; the generation of the upright will be blessed. 3 Wealth and riches are in his house, and his righteousness endures forever. - Psalm 112:1-3(New International Version).
GOD'S PROMISE TO US FROM HIS HOLY WORD
15 The eyes of all look to you (Lord), and you give them their food at the proper time. 16 You open your hand and satisfy the desires of every living thing. - Psalm 145:15-16(New International Version).
A QUOTE:
My friends are an oasis to me, encouraging me to go on. They are essential to my well-being. - Dee Brestin -
THOUGHTS TO REMEMBER:
If God cares for sparrows, He surely cares for us. - From Our Daily Bread -
Some people find fault as if it were treasure. - From Reminisce Magazine -
Worry is like a rocking chair - it keeps you busy and gets you nowhere. - From Reminisce Magazine -
NOTES:
Today has been cloudy with occasional light rain this afternoon. High temperature today was 52 degrees. Treva and I were having lunch at Taco Bob's Fiesta Grill today and were just about finished when in walked my brother, Charley, who had been on a church retreat for the past few days. Then Charley's pastor, Steve, came in with Doug, our cousin, so we sat and visited with them for quite a while. Treva left for home around 1:00 p.m. and called me this evening to tell me she had arrived home safe and sound. Of course she had her American Bulldog, Libby, with her. This time she also brought a cat named Sophie who was on medication, so Treva had to bring her to give her the pills for a urinary tract infection. We had a nice time visiting. Treva arrived at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. We went to the Rib Crib that evening for dinner. We brought home enough food to have dinner at home last evening. Treva likes to come visit about every month to check on old dad. I told her that was too often considering it is around 300 miles to Topeka, Kansas. I told her to wait two months this time even though I love to have her visit but driving 600 miles once a month to see me is too often, in my humble opinion. The past two nights we have just visited while I worked puzzles and Treva watched a program or two on television. Thanks for your emails and thanks to everyone who reads the Good Things.
The cats are fine. Five of them are in the den with me. Emmy is on the back of the sofa. Leo is on the main part of the sofa. Lucy is lying in the floor in front of a little gas heater that I have going tonight. Rascal is in the recliner chair. Tony is on the back of the couch. Needless to say, they are all asleep. I have seen all of the cats this evening.
Have a nice Thursday.

Good Things
Sunday, March 23, 2014GOD SPEAKS TO US THROUGH HIS HOLY WORD:
19 We love because He first loved us. 20 If anyone says, "I love God," yet hates his brother, he is a liar. For anyone who does not love his brother, whom he has seen, cannot love God, whom he has not seen. - 1 John 4:19-20(New International Version).
GOD'S PROMISE TO US FROM HIS HOLY WORD:
28 And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love Him, who have been called according to His purpose. - Romans 8:28(New International Version).
A QUOTE:
Remember, "me first" living is not the key to success. Put God first. - Albert Lee -
THOUGHTS TO REMEMBER:
A word well-chosen can open a heart to God. - From Our Daily Bread -
Do as well as you can today and perhaps you can do better tomorrow. - From Reminisce Magazine -
The best way to break a bad habit is to drop it. - From Reminisce Magazine -
NOTES:
Today has been mostly sunny with a high temperature of 52 degrees. I attended Worship Services this morning. As always we had a wonderful service. John Brisco preached today as Pastor JT is on vacation. I had lunch at home. I took a nap this afternoon. Tony was with me part of the time. I put food outside for the animals at around 6:00 p.m. At around 6:30 p.m. I put the garbage out on the street for pick up in the morning. Thanks for your emails and thanks for reading the Good Things. Let me know if you would like to be dropped from the Good Things. There will not be Good Things tomorrow as my daughter, Treva, is coming to visit for a couple of days. There may not be Good Things again until Wednesday. A thought that is always on my mind is when to stop sending out the Good Things. I am old and tired but if they are helping to brighten someone's life then I will keep sending them as long as I am able.
The cats are fine. Rascal is the only one with me at present and he is in the recliner chair. I have seen all of the cats this evening.
Have a nice Monday to start the week.
