Good Things

GOD SPEAKS TO US THROUGH HIS HOLY WORD:

1 Praise the Lord! Blessed is the man who fears the Lord, who finds great delight in His commands. 2 His children will be mighty in the land; the generation of the upright will be blessed. 3 Wealth and riches are in his house, and his righteousness endures forever. - Psalm 112:1-3(New International Version).

GOD'S PROMISE TO US FROM HIS HOLY WORD

15 The eyes of all look to you (Lord), and you give them their food at the proper time. 16 You open your hand and satisfy the desires of every living thing. - Psalm 145:15-16(New International Version).

A QUOTE:

My friends are an oasis to me, encouraging me to go on. They are essential to my well-being. - Dee Brestin -

THOUGHTS TO REMEMBER:

If God cares for sparrows, He surely cares for us. - From Our Daily Bread -

Some people find fault as if it were treasure. - From Reminisce Magazine -

Worry is like a rocking chair - it keeps you busy and gets you nowhere. - From Reminisce Magazine -

NOTES:

Today has been cloudy with occasional light rain this afternoon. High temperature today was 52 degrees. Treva and I were having lunch at Taco Bob's Fiesta Grill today and were just about finished when in walked my brother, Charley, who had been on a church retreat for the past few days. Then Charley's pastor, Steve, came in with Doug, our cousin, so we sat and visited with them for quite a while. Treva left for home around 1:00 p.m. and called me this evening to tell me she had arrived home safe and sound. Of course she had her American Bulldog, Libby, with her. This time she also brought a cat named Sophie who was on medication, so Treva had to bring her to give her the pills for a urinary tract infection. We had a nice time visiting. Treva arrived at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. We went to the Rib Crib that evening for dinner. We brought home enough food to have dinner at home last evening. Treva likes to come visit about every month to check on old dad. I told her that was too often considering it is around 300 miles to Topeka, Kansas. I told her to wait two months this time even though I love to have her visit but driving 600 miles once a month to see me is too often, in my humble opinion. The past two nights we have just visited while I worked puzzles and Treva watched a program or two on television. Thanks for your emails and thanks to everyone who reads the Good Things.

The cats are fine. Five of them are in the den with me. Emmy is on the back of the sofa. Leo is on the main part of the sofa. Lucy is lying in the floor in front of a little gas heater that I have going tonight. Rascal is in the recliner chair. Tony is on the back of the couch. Needless to say, they are all asleep. I have seen all of the cats this evening.

Have a nice Thursday.
