Good Things
GOOD THINGS Saturday, February 15, 2014GOD SPEAKS TO US THROUGH HIS HOLY WORD 7 All kinds of animals, birds, reptiles and creatures of the sea are being tamed and have been tamed by man, 8 but no man can tame the tongue. It is a restless evil, full of deadly poison. - James 3:7-8(New International Version).
GOD'S PROMISE TO US FROM HIS HOLY WORD 10 God is not unjust; He will not forget your work and the love you have shown Him as you have helped His people and continue to help them. - Hebrews 6:10(New International Version).
A QUOTE If you find yourself angling for "more, more, more," remember that contentment comes when you have "more" of Christ. - Jennifer Benson Schuldt - THOUGHTS TO REMEMBER Hope is faith holding out its hand in the dark. - From Reminisce Magazine -
May your thoughts be on God today, as His are on you constantly. - From Prayers and Blessings -
So often it is the giver who is enriched by the gift. - From Reflecting God - NOTES Today has been a sunny day with a high temperature of 63 degrees. Kathy cleaned my house today while I had lunch with Charley. I went to the post office and picked up my mail. I took a nap this afternoon with Smokey and Tony. I put food outside for the animals at around 6:00 p.m. I watched the Lawrence Welk program at 7:00 p.m. The program tonight was from 1958 and was in black and white. One of the songs that was sung was "I'll Be Seeing You" which was a real poplar song during World War 2. A lot of people never got to come home to their loved ones. We tend forget that in today's world. The other wars were important also but I happened to be in WW 2. I like the song "I'll Be Seeing You" so I will leave the lyrics to it at the end of the Good Things. I am sure you can hear the tune on YouTube.
The cats are fine. Leo and Rascal are close by here in the den. Emmy is resting on a sheet on the washer not too far from where I am. I have seen all the cats this evening.
Have a Wonderful Sunday. Everett.
Keep Thinking The Good Thoughts!!!
"I'll Be Seeing You"
I'll be seeing you
In all the old familiar places
That this heart of mine embraces
All day and through
In that small cafe
The park across the way
The children's carousel
The chestnut trees, the wishing well
I'll be seeing you
In every lovely summer's day
In everything that's light and gay
I'll always think of you that way
I'll find you in the morning sun
And when the night is new
I'll be looking at the moon
But I'll be seeing you

NOTES Today has been a sunny day with a high temperature of 63 degrees. Treva and I had lunch with Charley. We came by city hall to pay my water bill and then by the post office to pick up my mail. Treva and Libby (her dog) left for home at 1:05 p.m. I talked with her at around 7:30 p.m. and she had made it home safe and sound. I put food outside for the cats at 5:40 p.m. I made a trip to Walgreen's around 4:00 p.m. to pick up a prescription. I gave you the wrong date for Treva's birthday. It is February 21 rather than February 19. The cats are fine. Rascal and Tony are in the den with me at present. Emmy and Lucy have been in recently. I have seen all of them this evening. Thanks for your emails and thanks for reading the Good Things. I am tired again tonight so I will close for now.
HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO MY GOOD FRIEND, GAETANO!!!!

NOTES Today has been mostly cloudy with a high temperature of 34 degrees. I had lunch with Charley and Bill. I went to the post office. I went by Walgreen's to pick up a prescription. I took a nap with Beau and Emmy. At around 3:00 p.m. I went to Buck's Barber Shop and got a haircut. Buck's cancer is in remission but he won't be back to work. He is in his seventies. His son, Brent, is continuing to keep the shop going. I petted the cat again that hangs out at the shop and held him for a little while. The cat is orange colored and is a friend to everyone. After the haircut, I came by Braum's and brought home my supper. I put food out for the animals at around 5:25 p.m. My daughter, Treva, is coming to visit tomorrow for a couple of days so in all probability there will not be Good Things tomorrow. Thanks for your emails and thanks for reading the Good Things.
The cats are fine. Friendly is on the back of the sofa tonight for a change. She seldom stays out here in the den. She is a tortoiseshell color. I have seen all the kitties tonight.
Have a nice Wednesday. Everett.

You cannot get ahead while you are getting even. - From Reminisce Magazine -
NOTES Today has been a cloudy day with a high temperature of 28 degrees. I had lunch with Charley and Bill. I went to the post office to pick up my mail. While I was out I went to Walmart and the Petsense store. Beau took a nap with me this afternoon. The others were outside and I didn't know that I had the door closed completely where they couldn't get inside. I put food outside for the outside animals at around 5:25 p.m. Today has been another lonely day. If you have never lost a spouse you just don't know how lonely it can be even after six years. I appreciate your emails and I appreciate each one who reads the Good Things.
The cats are fine. Emmy, Leo, Rascal and Tony are in the den with me at present. Lucy has been inside this evening in one of the bedrooms. I have seen all of the cats this evening.
Have a nice Tuesday. Everett.
Keep thinking the good thoughts.
