Good Things

NOTES
Today has been a cloudy day with a high temperature of 77 degrees and a low temperature of 61 degrees. I had lunch with Charley and Bill. I came by the post office for my mail and then I went by Braum's for a bag of oranges. I had my nap in early afternoon. Three cats were sleeping with me most of the time, Little Girl, Smokey and Tony. Around 4:30 p.m. I went to the cemetery and then came by Little Caesars for a pizza. I had part of the pizza for my supper and will have the rest tomorrow. I sat out with the cats for 30 minutes or more. It was real nice outside this evening. This is Saturday night. Back in the 1940's during World War II when all of the young boys and men were in service there was a popular song titled "Saturday Night Is The Loneliest Night In The Week." I guess you might sing that song about we people that have lost our wives or husbands. I do have my cats to keep me company.
Since the last Good Things I have heard from Michelle, Gail and Burlene. Gail has had a busy week and didn't know the Good Things were back. She had been working at the county fair last week and had her granddaughter this week. She hadn't checked her e-mail until today and was happy to see the Good Things back. Gail uses parts of the Good Things on her church marquee. I think the Lord wanted me to start the Good Things again so maybe that is why he is keeping me here.
The cats are fine. All of my cats love me and anytime they come around me they have to let me know they are near and of course they always get some attention from me. I really don't know how I could make it without my cats. It would really be a lonely Saturday night without them.
Have a Wonderful Sunday!
I will see you next time,

Good Things
by Everett Christian, McAlester, OKGOD SPEAKS TO US THROUGH HIS HOLY WORD
24 And God said, “Let the land produce living creatures according to their kinds: livestock, creatures that move along the ground, and wild animals, each according to its kind.” And it was so. 25 God made the wild animals according to their kinds, the livestock according to their kinds, and all the creatures that move along the ground according to their kinds. And God saw that it was good. - Genesis 1:24-25(New International Version).
GOD'S PROMISE TO US FROM HIS HOLY WORD
(The Lord said to Solomon) 13 “When I shut up the heavens so that there is no rain, or command locusts to devour the land or send a plague among my people, 14 if my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then will I hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and will heal their land." - 2 Chronicles 7:13-14(New International Version).

NOTES
Today has been cloudy and cool with a few drops of rain occasionally. High temperature was 68 degrees with a low of 61 degrees. One week ago today the temperature was 107 degrees. I had lunch with Charley and Bill. I went by the post office and then Walgreen's to pick up a couple of prescriptions. I took my nap in early afternoon. At 4:00 p.m. I went to Walmart for my weekly supplies of cat food and other items. I put treats out for the cats at about 6:00 p.m. but didn't stay out with them as it was a little damp. Since yesterday's Good Things I have heard from these nice people: Burlene, Audie, Sandy, Mary Jo, Geneva, Pastor J. T., Michelle, Patti, Cathy Tadlock and Alice. Thanks for you nice comments and thanks to everyone who reads the Good Things. I feel better today than yesterday.
The cats are fine. I have seen all ten of them today.
Have a nice Saturday!
I will see you next time,

NOTES
Today has been mostly cloudy with a high temperature of 82 degrees and a low of 68 degrees. We had a few drops of rain around noontime. I didn't do Good Things yesterday due to a rough day. I had an injection early yesterday morning for my back. Immediately after the injection I had a sick spell which started with dizziness. My brother, Charley, brought me home and helped me get in the house and in bed. I slept most of the remainder of the day. I called the doctor who gave the injection around 4:30 p.m. He didn't understand the reactions that I was getting and told me to get a good nights rest and call him this morning. I got a good nights rest and called the doctor this morning and talked with the nurse. She said the doctor would call me back. He did call back this afternoon but still could not explain the reaction I received from the injection. Last evening I could not even write with my hand due to the tremors. I have felt better today but I had Charley come after me for lunch. I do not plan on using this doctor here again. If I need any more injections in my back I will get someone to take me to the Spine Hospital in Oklahoma City where I used to go. They would not have sent me home in that condition. In fact I don't think that I would have been in that condition. I still don't know what caused the reaction and neither does the doctor. I am feeling much better tonight or I wouldn't be doing the Good Things.
I have received e-mails from these dear people since the last Good Things: Mary Jo, Burlene, Michele, Stan, Lucille, Patti and Alice. I appreciate your e-mails and I also appreciate everyone who reads the Good Things.
The cats are fine. Tony is staying at my house all the time now.
I will see you next time. In Christian Love, Everett.

NOTES
I decided to continue with the Good Things, at least for now. If you don't want them cluttering up your computer or for any other reason that you don't want them just send me an e-mail and I will certainly understand. I had lunch with Charley, then to the post office and then to the Petsense Store for cat food. I took an afternoon nap as usual. At 4:15 p.m. I went to the Country Mart Store for a few items. I sat outside with the cats for almost an hour while they had their treats. Thanks to the following people who commented on the return of the Good Things: Nan, Michelle, Audie, Steve, Burlene, Geneva, Debra, Sandy and Claudia. Thanks to everyone who reads the Good Things.
The cats are fine. I have seen all of them today including Tony and Lucy the stray. I hadn't seen Tony yesterday or today until tonight. He came in a little while ago for food. My neighbors have put a couple of dogs in the yard across the street where Tony used to live even though they don't own the house. Now Tony can't go back to his former house. I was beginning to worry and pray about Tony. It hurts me deeply when I lose one of my cats. I love my human family but I don't get to see them often. I talk to my two daughters every day, one in the morning and the other at night. I live with my cats so I love them also.
I will see you next time.

NOTES
I decided to do a Good Things tonight since I usually sit around reading the paper or working puzzles, etc. during this time. You that live alone know what is like sitting around by yourself in the evenings. You do different things to pass the time until bedtime. If the Good Things help you in any way, please let me know and then I will decide if I will keep doing them. I am 87 years of age now so my mind probably wanders at times but maybe my writings will still make sense to you. Also let me know if you want pictures if I start the Good Things again. I still have lunch every day at Taco Bob's Fiesta Grill with my brother Charley and sometimes our friend, Bill, joins us. I had lunch today with Charley. Our weather has finally cooled down some after a hot day of 107 degrees last Friday. It has been cool enough for me to sit out with the cats the past three days.
The 10 cats are fine. If you have forgotten their names they are Beau, Emmy, Friendly, Itty Bitty, Leo, Little Girl, Lucy the stray, Rascal, Smokey and Tony. They enjoy it so much when I feed them their treats and sit with them in the evening. I have eight chairs sitting in a circle in the back yard. When my kids and grandkids come to visit we use them. The rest of the time they are used by my cats and me. This evening at 7:15 I was sitting in one chair. In other chairs were Beau, Friendly and Smokey. Rascal was lying on the steps of the little storage house. Lucy was lying on the ground in the grass. Leo hadn't come in yet from where he stays during the day. Emmy usually doesn't join us in the back yard. Little Girl and Tony stay in the front yard.
Have a nice Tuesday and maybe I will see you again soon.
In Christian Love,
Everett.
