Defeated

               Defeated

"Go and cause them strife," hate said,
"from this place of lies and death.
Infiltrate, destroy your prey,"
then spoken with hate's breath.
Then the minions by command
moved up from hell's domain.
And in a place of hope and love
they struck with doubt and pain.
Some time passed and back they came,
but no victory cries were known.
Only the words of their defeat,
for those they found were not alone.
"All power that you give, oh hate,
could not bring us near.
For the Word Of God they spoke aloud
drove away all fear.
And even when one stood alone
something moved unseen.
For fire surrounded when they prayed
and Angels stood between."
