Good Things
Friday, February 27, 2015GOD SPEAKS TO US THROUGH HIS HOLY WORD
7 The path of the righteous is level; O upright One, you make the way of the righteous smooth. 8 Yes, Lord, walking in the way of your laws, we wait for you; your name and renown are the desire of our hearts. - Isaiah 26:7-8(New International Version).
GOD'S PROMISE TO US FROM HIS HOLY WORD
18 The days of the blameless are known to the Lord, and their inheritance will endure forever. - Psalm 37:18(New International Version).
A QUOTE
The greatest single distinguishing feature of the omnipotence of God is that our imagination gets lost when thinking about it. - Blaise Pascal -
Heaven comes down to touch us when we find ourselves safe in the heart of another. - From Thank You For Being a Friend -
The cats are fine. Emmy, Friendly, Leo and Rascal are in the den with me. Emmy just got on the desk and told me she wanted out so I opened the door and let her out. Friendly and Rascal went with her. I don't think they will stay out long due to the snow and bitterly cold temperature. I have seen all the kitties this evening.
Have a nice Saturday,
Everett.

8 "For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways," declares the Lord. 9 "As the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways and my thoughts than your thoughts." - Isaiah 55:8-9(New International Version).
GOD'S PROMISE TO US FROM HIS HOLY WORD
3 The Son is the radiance of God's glory and the exact representation of his being, sustaining all things by his powerful word. After he had provided purification for sins, he sat down at the right hand of the Majesty in heaven. - Hebrews 1:3(New International Version).
THOUGHTS TO REMEMBER
It's never too late to be what you might have been. - From Reminisce Magazine -
To escape criticism, do nothing, say nothing and be nothing. - From Reminisce Magazine -
NOTES
Today has been mostly cloudy with a high temperature of 34 degrees and wind from the north direction at 16 to 18 miles per hour which made it feel much colder. I had lunch with Charley. Susan was our waitress today. I went to the post office. I have been home the rest of the day taking a nap this afternoon with Lucy. Tomorrow is supposed to be another cold day, Brr. I gave the cats their treats at around 5:00 p.m. Thanks for reading and thanks for writing. The Good Things are getting a little shorter as I get older.
The cats are fine. Emmy and Rascal are on the sofa. Leo is in the recliner chair. I have seen all of my babies this evening.
Have a nice Friday,
Everett

GOD'S PROMISE TO US FROM HIS HOLY WORD
5 Why are you downcast, O my soul? Why so disturbed within me? Put your hope in God, for I will yet praise him, my Savior and my God. Psalm 43:5(New International Version).
A QUOTE
Prudence means practical common sense, taking the trouble to think out what you are doing and what is likely to come of it. - C. S. Lewis -
THOUGHTS TO REMEMBER
Failures are those who thought and never did and those who did and never thought. - From Reminisce Magazine -
Life without a mission is a tremendous omission. - From Reminisce Magazine -
NOTES
The day started with cloudy skies but the skies cleared this afternoon. High temperature today was 45 degrees. A lot of the snow left today. Stephanie came this morning and gave my home another good cleaning. I had lunch with Charley and Bill. I went to the post office. I took a nap this afternoon. Itty Bitty, Lucy and Smokey were with me at different times. I gave the cats their treats at around 5:00 p.m. Thanks for reading and writing.
The cats are fine. None are with me at present. Since a lot of the snow has melted they are going outside more. I have seen all of them this evening.
Have a nice Thursday.

Pray for a good harvest but continue to hoe. - From Reminisce Magazine -
NOTES
We have had snow most of the day. It finally stopped after 3:00 p.m. this afternoon. High temperature today was 24 degrees. I would estimate that we have at least 3 inches of snow on the ground. I stayed inside all day. Tomorrow will be the anniversary of my dear wife's passing seven years ago. The past seven years have been the loneliest of my lifetime. If you have never lost a spouse to death you do not know how lonely it can be. Many of you reading this have lost a spouse to death and you know how it feels but the rest of you don't know. You might think you do but you don't know. I wonder a lot why the Lord took my wife and left me here so long and others I am sure have wondered the same thing. My cats have been such a comfort to me and they all love me dearly and I love them.
The cats are fine. Emmy and Leo are here in the den with me at present. They have stayed inside today because of the snow. Some venture out for a little while but don't stay out long. I have seen all of them this evening.
Have a nice Tuesday,
Everett.

11 In God I trust; I will not be afraid. What can man do to me? - Psalm 56:11(New International Version). GOD'S PROMISE TO US FROM HIS HOLY WORD 9 Anyone who runs ahead and does not continue in the teaching of Christ does not have God; whoever continues in the teaching has both the Father and the Son. - 2 John 1:9(New International Version).

Swallow your pride occasionally; its nonfattening. - From Reminisce Magazine -
You're not a failure if you fall down, but you are if you stay down. - From Reminisce Magazine -
NOTES
My daughter, Treva, came Friday and went home today. Yesterday was her birthday so I took her to an Italian restaurant last night, Giacomo's. This morning the weather was cloudy and the news said that snow had started in the northern part of our state. Treva needed to get home so she left around 8:15 a.m. I didn't attend church because she was going to call me when she stopped for anything to tell me how things were going. She did call about the time that I would have been in church. She was in Bartlesville and had run into snow but the roads were still fine. I lay down around 11:00 a.m. and went to sleep. When I got up around 2:00 snow had covered everything here in McAlester. Treva called a little after 2:00 to tell me she had made it home. She ran out of the snow after she got into Kansas. The rest of the day I have been doing what I usually do, work puzzles, read and watch a little television. The snow has stopped for now but I think it is supposed to snow more later tonight and tomorrow. Thanks for reading my notes and writing to me.
The cats are fine. They are all accounted for and are staying in due to the snow.
Have a nice Monday,
Everett.
