GOD'S PROMISE TO US FROM HIS HOLY WORD:
2 Praise Him (the Lord) for His acts of power; praise Him for His surpassing greatness. - Psalm 150:2(New International Version).
A QUOTE:

THOUGHTS TO REMEMBER:
The best attitude to have is gratitude. - From Reminisce Magazine -
The greener grass on the other side is just as hard to cut. - From Reminisce Magazine -
What matters is not faith and works; it is not faith or works; it is faith that works. - From Our Daily Bread -
NOTES:
Today has been a sunny day with a high temperature of 90 degrees. I had lunch with Charley. I went to the post office. I then went to Walmart for my weekly supplies of cat food, human food and other items. I took a nap this afternoon with Emmy. Smokey was with us part of the time. I put treats out for the cats around 6:30 p.m. Thanks for emails and thanks for reading the Good Things.
Tonight I would like to share an email with you from Michelle, who lives in California. She lives alone with her cat, Sasha, and needs our prayers. Her note will be at the end of the Good Things. Her age is in the sixties.
My cats are fine. Rascal and Smokey are both near me on a desk. I have seen all of the kitties this evening.
Have a nice Wednesday. Everett.
Here is Michelle's letter:
Aug 3 at 10:13 PM
Hi Everett. I'd love to be able to tell you I'm getting better, but I'm not. I have some very good days, but then I have days like today when I can't get out of bed the whole day. The vertigo today has been extremely bad - no matter what I do. At one point I bent down to do something and nearly fell. I pushed myself with my cane onto my bed. I don't need the cane to walk, just to help steady me so I don't fall.
Sasha has been with me part of the day. That helps. I'm just feeling lonely. I wish I could get out and go to church, but I can't even look down or up without getting extremely dizzy. Even if I turn my head a little too fast it happens.
I had the CT scan on my liver and abdomen, but don't know the results. I have one more thing to do before I go back to the doctor - a fasting blood test. Then maybe my doctor will have some news for me as to what's going on and will be able to prescribe a course of treatment. I only know that no matter what he tells me (except if everything is normal - how could it be with the way I feel?) I will take it calmly. God has me and won't let anything happen to me.
Please just keep me in your prayers. Can you add my name to a prayer list at your church? I'd appreciate it.
Blessings to you and your furkids. You are ever in my prayers. They are all my favorites. Honest. I wish I had better news for you. I know you have problems of your own.
Michelle

Good Things
Saturday, August 2, 2014GOD SPEAKS TO US THROUGH HIS HOLY WORD:
11 I will remember the deeds of the Lord; yes, I will remember your miracles of long ago. 12 I will meditate on all your works and consider all your mighty deeds. - Psalm 77:11-12(New International Version).
GOD'S PROMISE TO US FROM HIS HOLY WORD:
12 Hatred stirs up dissension, but love covers over all wrongs. - Proverbs 10:12(New International Version).
A QUOTE:
We cannot finish the Christian race on our own. We have to depend on Jesus living in us. - Albert Lee -
THOUGHTS TO REMEMBER:
God works through us to meet the needs of those around us. - From Our Daily Bread -
Humility is that elusive thing - the moment you think you have it you've lost it. - From Reminisce Magazine -
It's alright to hold a conversation, but let go of it now and then. - From Reminisce Magazine -
NOTES:
Today has been a sunny day with a high temperature of 87 degrees. I had lunch with Charley. I went to the post office and then by Memory Gardens cemetery. I took a nap this afternoon with Emmy. I put treats outside for the cats around 6:30 p.m. I watched the Lawrence Welk program from 1978 at 7:00 p.m. Thanks for your emails and thanks to each one for reading the Good Things.
The cats are fine. None are with me at present but I have seen all of them this evening.
I hope everyone has a wonderful Sunday. Everett

Good Things
Friday, August 1, 2014GOD SPEAKS TO US THROUGH HIS HOLY WORD:
15 Do not love the world or anything in the world. If anyone loves the world, the love of the Father is not in him. 16 For everything in the world - the cravings of sinful man, the lust of his eyes and the boasting of what he has and does - comes not from the Father but from the world. 17 The world and it desires pass away, but the man who does the will of God lives forever. 1 John 2:15-17(New International Version).
GOD'S PROMISE TO US FROM HIS HOLY WORD:
2 Praise the Lord, O my soul; and forget not all His benefits - 3 who forgives all your sins and heals all your diseases, 4 who redeems your life from the pit and crowns you with love and compassion, 5 who satisfies your desires with good things so that your youth is renewed like the eagles. - Psalm 103:2-5(New International Version).
A QUOTE:
Placing our spouse's needs before our own confirms our commitment to each other through Christlike humility. - Jennifer Benson Schuldt -
THOUGHTS TO REMEMBER:
Living in the past is lots of fun. Besides, it's cheaper. - From Reminisce Magazine -
Christ believed is salvation received. - From Our Daily Bread -
What you are is God's gift to you, what you make of yourself is your gift to God. - From Reminisce Magazine -
NOTES:
Today has been partly cloudy with a high temperature of 81 degrees. I had lunch with Charley and Bill. I went to the post office. About 1:00 p.m. I made a trip to the Petsense store, then by Everythings A Dollar store and finally to Walmart for some items. I took a nap with Emmy and Smokey. I put treats outside for the cats about 6:30 p.m. and sat with them for a few minutes. Thanks for emails and thanks for reading the Good Things. If you would like to be dropped, just let me know.
The cats are fine. Lucy is on the back of the sofa and Smokey is lying in the floor. I have seen all the cats this evening.
Have a nice Saturday. Everett

Good Things
Thursday, July 31, 2014GOD SPEAKS TO US THROUGH HIS HOLY WORD:
25 The Lord is good to those whose hope is in Him, to the one who seeks Him; 26 it is good to wait quietly for the salvation of the Lord. - Lamentations 3:25-26(New International Version).
GOD'S PROMISE TO US FROM HIS HOLY WORD:
9 The Lord is not slow in keeping His promise, as some understand slowness. He is patient with you, not wanting anyone to perish, but everyone to come to repentance. - 2 Peter 3:9(New International Version).
A QUOTE:
We cannot know the future. But we can know this: No matter what comes, we are under the loving, caring, watchful eye of our Great Shepherd, who also happens to be the Son of God! - Dave Egner -
THOUGHTS TO REMEMBER:
For a new start, ask God for a new heart. - From Our Daily Bread -
Never put off until tomorrow a kindness you can do today. - From Reminisce Magazine -
The best time to do something is between yesterday and tomorrow. - From Reminisce Magazine -
NOTES:
Today has been a cloudy day with a high temperature of 72 degrees. Isn't that temperature nice for July? I checked my rain gauge this morning for how much rain we received yesterday and last night. The rain gauge measures up to five inches and it was completely full and overflowing. The weather station reports that McAlester, Oklahoma, received 5.75 inches of rain. Now that is a lot of rain. I had lunch today with Charley and Bill. I went by the post office but I had no mail. Reminds me of the old country and western song that was popular when I was in high school, "No Letter Today." I came home, took my afternoon nap with Emmy. I put treats outside for the cats at around 6:15 p.m. Thanks for reading and thanks for your emails.
I have some sad news to report tonight. My good church friend, Gaetano, passed away earlier this evening. Please pray for his wife, Brenda, and the rest of the family.
The cats are fine. Smokey is the only one with me at present but Rascal has been here and just left out. I have seen all of the cats this evening.
Have a nice Friday. Everett
