Good Things

Thursday, July 31, 2014

GOD SPEAKS TO US THROUGH HIS HOLY WORD:

25 The Lord is good to those whose hope is in Him, to the one who seeks Him; 26 it is good to wait quietly for the salvation of the Lord. - Lamentations 3:25-26(New International Version).

GOD'S PROMISE TO US FROM HIS HOLY WORD:

9 The Lord is not slow in keeping His promise, as some understand slowness. He is patient with you, not wanting anyone to perish, but everyone to come to repentance. - 2 Peter 3:9(New International Version).

A QUOTE:

We cannot know the future. But we can know this: No matter what comes, we are under the loving, caring, watchful eye of our Great Shepherd, who also happens to be the Son of God! - Dave Egner -

THOUGHTS TO REMEMBER:

For a new start, ask God for a new heart. - From Our Daily Bread -

Never put off until tomorrow a kindness you can do today. - From Reminisce Magazine -

The best time to do something is between yesterday and tomorrow. - From Reminisce Magazine -

NOTES:

Today has been a cloudy day with a high temperature of 72 degrees. Isn't that temperature nice for July? I checked my rain gauge this morning for how much rain we received yesterday and last night. The rain gauge measures up to five inches and it was completely full and overflowing. The weather station reports that McAlester, Oklahoma, received 5.75 inches of rain. Now that is a lot of rain. I had lunch today with Charley and Bill. I went by the post office but I had no mail. Reminds me of the old country and western song that was popular when I was in high school, "No Letter Today." I came home, took my afternoon nap with Emmy. I put treats outside for the cats at around 6:15 p.m. Thanks for reading and thanks for your emails.

I have some sad news to report tonight. My good church friend, Gaetano, passed away earlier this evening. Please pray for his wife, Brenda, and the rest of the family.

The cats are fine. Smokey is the only one with me at present but Rascal has been here and just left out. I have seen all of the cats this evening.

Have a nice Friday. Everett
