Spring Bursts Forth
Lord, seems You tell
about Spring in scripture
right in the very beginning.
When I see the green
leaves in all the trees
the blossoms, too.
I feel closer to You
in Spring than in
any other season.
The trees, the birds singing,
the newness of nature
all comes from You.
I am forever grateful
and marvel at all
of Your creations.
Thank You!
Let the earth burst forth with every sort of grass and seed-bearing plant, and fruit trees with seeds inside the fruit, so that these seeds will produce the kinds of plants and fruits they come from."(Genesis 1:11-12)
Good Things
Thursday, April 24, 2014GOD SPEAKS TO US THROUGH HIS HOLY WORD:
22 A cheerful heart is good medicine, but a crushed spirit dries up the bones. - Proverbs 17:22(New International Version).
GOD'S PROMISE TO US FROM HIS HOLY WORD:
(The Apostle Paul wrote) 11 "Finally, brothers, good-by. Aim for perfection, listen to my appeal, be of one mind, live in peace. And the God of love and peace will be with you. - 2 Corinthians 13:11(New International Version).
A QUOTE:
By listening to His voice and obeying His commands, thank God, I stand before Him today with His wings over my head, with the everlasting arms beneath me, and with His love in my soul. - Uncle Bud Robinson -
THOUGHTS TO REMEMBER:
I wish that you never have a day without laughing or loving, giving or forgiving. - From I Wish For You -
It's hard to climb the ladder of success with your hands in your pockets. - From Reminisce Magazine -
When we follow God, we blaze a trail for those who would follow. - From Our Daily Bread -
NOTES:
Today has been mostly cloudy with a rain shower around 7:00 a.m. High temperature today was 77 degrees. I had lunch with Charley and Bill. I went to Family Dollar Store and then to the post office. I took my nap this afternoon with Emmy. Rascal joined us just as I was getting up. I put food and treats outside for the cats at around 6:00 p.m. and sat for a few minutes with them. I did a load of laundry this evening and it is drying now. I appreciate everyone who reads the Good Things and I appreciate your emails. This computer still does not work as good as it did before they tried to make it better.
The cats are fine. I just opened the front patio door and four cats came in: Emmy, Leo, Rascal and Tony. All the cats are accounted for this evening.
Have a nice Friday. Everett

Pilate's Hands
Without conscience,
we say
all is well
with our sisters
who lacerate wombs,
yank mistakes
and inconveniences.
It is not we
who siphon brains
or scrape the fertile lair.
We cast votes behind curtains
and gloat shamelessly
of our rights.
It is not we
who do the deed.
Innocent of blood
of these just persons,
guiltless hands
color the water,
ignorant participants
of a new crucifixion.
Good Things

GOD'S PROMISE TO US FROM HIS HOLY WORD:
5 For there is one God and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus, 6 who gave Himself as a ransom for all for all men - the testimony given in its proper time. - 1 Timothy 2:5-6(New International Version).
A QUOTE:
When life is at its lowest ebb, we are not without hope because of the wonderful grace of God. - David McCasland -
THOUGHTS TO REMEMBER:
I hope that you live with the sense of wonder and openness and trust and forgiveness of a child. - From I Wish For You -
Nobody has ever actually measured how much the human heart can hold. - From Reminisce Magazine -
True prayer is a way of life, not an emergency detour! - From Our Daily Bread -
NOTES:
Well, you can tell by the print and format tonight that they are still doing stuff to my computer. I don't know when it will be completed. Today has been mostly sunny with a high temperature of 84 degrees. I had lunch at McDonalds today since Charley and his granddaughter were at Muskogee. While I was out I went to the post office, Petsense store, Dollar Tree and Walmart. I took a nap this afternoon with Emmy. I called Charley after he returned from Muskogee and he said he was doing ok. I put food and treats outside for the cats at around 6:00 p.m. Thanks for your emails and thanks for reading the Good Things. If you ever want to be dropped from the Good Things for any reason, let me know.
The cats are fine. Emmy, Leo, Lucy, Rascal and Tony have been around this evening going in and out. I have see all the cats this evening.
Have a nice Thursday. Everett
