Good Things
by Everett Christian, McAlester, OKGOD SPEAKS TO US THROUGH HIS HOLY WORD
(The Apostle John wrote) 1 Then I saw “a new heaven and a new earth,” for the first heaven and the first earth had passed away, and there was no longer any sea. - Revelation 21:1(New International Version).
GOD'S PROMISE TO US FROM HIS HOLY WORD
9 But we do see Jesus, who was made lower than the angels for a little while, now crowned with glory and honor because he suffered death, so that by the grace of God he might taste death for everyone. - Hebrews 2:9(New International Version).
A QUOTE
I am only one, but I am one. I cannot do everything, but I can do something. What I can do, I should do and, with the help of God, I will do! - Everett Hale -
THOUGHTS TO REMEMBER
A hug is the perfect gift, one size fits all and no one minds if you exchange it. - From Stories for the Heart - The honey is sweet, but the bee has a sting. - From Proverbs for Daily Living -
NOTES
Today has been mostly cloudy with a high temperature of 43 degrees and a low of 21 degrees. I attended church this morning. We had a wonderful service. The title of Pastor's J. T.'s message was "Searching Our Hearts." I had lunch at home. I took a nap this afternoon with Tony. I put treats outside for the cats at 4:30 p.m. Since last time I have heard from Mary Jo, Michelle, Alice and Geneva. I am always glad to get e-mails.
The cats are fine. I have seen all of them this evening.
Have a good Monday to start the week!
I will see you next time. In Christian Love, Everett.

Good Things
by Everett Christian, McAlester, OKGOD SPEAKS TO US THROUGH HIS HOLY WORD
23 Yet I am always with you (O Lord); you hold me by my right hand. 24 You guide me with your counsel, and afterward you will take me into glory. - Psalm 73:23-24(New International Version).
GOD'S PROMISE TO US FROM HIS HOLY WORD
14 Are not all angels ministering spirits sent to serve those who will inherit salvation? - Hebrews 1:14(New International Version).
A QUOTE
A man was walking in a wilderness. He became lost and was unable to find his way out. Another man met him. "Sir, I am lost, can you show me the way out of this wilderness?" "No," said the stranger, "I cannot show you the way out of the wilderness, but maybe if I walk with you, we can find it together." - Emery Nester -
,br /> THOUGHTS TO REMEMBER
Good words cost nothing, but are worth much. - From Proverbs for Daily Living - The road to success runs uphill, so don't expect to break any speed records. - From Don't Wait for Your Ship to Come In. . . Swim Out to Meet It! -
NOTES
Today has been another cold day with a high temperature of 42 degrees and a low this morning of 18 degrees. My housecleaning lady came at 11:15 a.m. to clean my house while I had lunch with Charley. I came by the post office as I came home. I took my afternoon nap with Tony. At 4:00 p.m. I made a quick trip to Walmart for a sack of dry cat food just in case I ran out before Monday. I put treats outside for the cats at around 5:00 p.m. When I start outside with their treats they are usually waiting somewhere close and I say "Come On Babies" and they come running from wherever they are. Since last time I have heard from Gaetano, Alice, Burlene, Audie (my cousin), Michele, Geneva and Leela. It is always nice to get e-mails. My dear Flonnie has been gone now for 4 years and 10 months. This is Saturday night and since my wife has been gone I have spent over 200 Saturday nights without a human but with some wonderful cats who communicate with me and me with them. I still cannot understand why the Lord is keeping me here. I am not writing this so you will feel sorry for me because I still have my cats and the Lord and e-mail friends who write me every day and my family with whom I am in contact with every day by phone. I talked with my niece-in-law, Ruby, this afternoon who lost her husband, Fred, about a month ago. She said that when Fred was sick he would sometimes come in where the computer was and say, "What Scriptures did Everett leave today?" Sometimes he would ask Ruby to print something that I had written. Made me feel like continuing with the Good Things.
The cats are fine. I have been in close contact with all of them today. Rascal is now in the recliner and Tony is lying close to my feet
. Have a Wonderful Sunday!
I will see you next time, In Christian Love, Everett.

A QUOTE
Letters are expectation packaged in an envelope. - Shana Alexander -
THOUGHTS TO REMEMBER
A good word is as soon said as a bad one. - From Proverbs For Daily Living -
Some people find life an empty dream because they put nothing into it. - From Don't Wait for Your Ship to Come In. . . Swim Out to Meet It! -
NOTES
Well, I'm Back in The Saddle Again as Gene Autry used to sing. I really had a rough night after I did the Good Things Christmas night. I didn't get much sleep that night and couldn't eat anything Wednesday except that afternoon I managed to eat a small can of tomato soup. I drank a lot of Gatorade so I would not dehydrate. Thursday morning I was able to resume my regular eating but I did not make it to Taco Bob's for lunch. Last night I was much better but just didn't feel up to doing the Good Things. Today I went to Taco Bob's for lunch with Charley and Bill. My brother, Charley, had the same thing I had. We must have caught it from Charley's daughter-in-law and grandson who were both in bed sick when I was over there for Christmas Dinner on Monday. Anyway I seem to be in good shape now until I have another bout of sickness sometime. I do have to take three pain pills every day for my back but that is a chronic thing. I really want to thank everyone who sent me an e-mail. I received too many to list but I do appreciate every one of them. I came by the post office after lunch today and then took my nap with Tony. It has been cold the past three days so I have been staying inside most of the time. The cats also stay in a lot but have to go out occasionally to check things out. I put their treats outside today at 4:30 p.m. but didn't linger with them.
The cats are fine and as I mentioned they have been staying in a lot. Lucy the stray comes in to eat but she just won't stay inside very long. Rascal is now asleep in the recliner. I have seen all of the cats today.
Have a pleasant Saturday!
I will see you next time, In Christian Love, Everett.

GOD'S PROMISE TO US FROM HIS HOLY WORD
4 Since ancient times no one has heard, no ear has perceived, no eye has seen any God besides you, who acts on behalf of those who wait for him - Isaiah 64:4(New International Version).
A QUOTE
People don't notice whether it's winter or summer when they're happy. - Anton Chekhov -
THOUGHTS TO REMEMBER
Cherish now your loved ones dear, for Christmas comes but once a year. - From Proverbs for Daily Living -
No problem is too large for God's intervention, and no person is too small for God's attention. - From Don't Wait for Your Ship to Come In. . . Swim Out to Meet It! -
NOTES
Today has been cloudy and cold. Snow started to fall between 12:00 noon and 1:00 p.m. It snowed most of the afternoon but stopped late this evening. I would estimate that there is about two inches of snow on the ground. I have been home by myself with the cats today. I didn't go out at all today. Since last time I have had nice e-mails from Michelle, Mary Jo, Michele, Jody, Patti, Geneva, Burlene, Rev. Tom, Alice, Leela, Pat and Nancy (my granddaughter in-law. The cats are fine and my back is hurting a little so I will close and take a pain pill.
Have a nice Wednesday!
I will see you next time, In Christian Love, Everett.
