Good Things

by Everett Christian, McAlester, OK

GOD SPEAKS TO US THROUGH HIS HOLY WORD
23 Yet I am always with you (O Lord); you hold me by my right hand. 24 You guide me with your counsel, and afterward you will take me into glory. - Psalm 73:23-24(New International Version).

GOD'S PROMISE TO US FROM HIS HOLY WORD
14 Are not all angels ministering spirits sent to serve those who will inherit salvation? - Hebrews 1:14(New International Version).

A QUOTE
A man was walking in a wilderness. He became lost and was unable to find his way out. Another man met him. "Sir, I am lost, can you show me the way out of this wilderness?" "No," said the stranger, "I cannot show you the way out of the wilderness, but maybe if I walk with you, we can find it together." - Emery Nester -
,br /> THOUGHTS TO REMEMBER
Good words cost nothing, but are worth much. - From Proverbs for Daily Living - The road to success runs uphill, so don't expect to break any speed records. - From Don't Wait for Your Ship to Come In. . . Swim Out to Meet It! -

NOTES
Today has been another cold day with a high temperature of 42 degrees and a low this morning of 18 degrees. My housecleaning lady came at 11:15 a.m. to clean my house while I had lunch with Charley. I came by the post office as I came home. I took my afternoon nap with Tony. At 4:00 p.m. I made a quick trip to Walmart for a sack of dry cat food just in case I ran out before Monday. I put treats outside for the cats at around 5:00 p.m. When I start outside with their treats they are usually waiting somewhere close and I say "Come On Babies" and they come running from wherever they are. Since last time I have heard from Gaetano, Alice, Burlene, Audie (my cousin), Michele, Geneva and Leela. It is always nice to get e-mails. My dear Flonnie has been gone now for 4 years and 10 months. This is Saturday night and since my wife has been gone I have spent over 200 Saturday nights without a human but with some wonderful cats who communicate with me and me with them. I still cannot understand why the Lord is keeping me here. I am not writing this so you will feel sorry for me because I still have my cats and the Lord and e-mail friends who write me every day and my family with whom I am in contact with every day by phone. I talked with my niece-in-law, Ruby, this afternoon who lost her husband, Fred, about a month ago. She said that when Fred was sick he would sometimes come in where the computer was and say, "What Scriptures did Everett leave today?" Sometimes he would ask Ruby to print something that I had written. Made me feel like continuing with the Good Things.
The cats are fine. I have been in close contact with all of them today. Rascal is now in the recliner and Tony is lying close to my feet
. Have a Wonderful Sunday!
I will see you next time, In Christian Love, Everett.
