GOD SPEAKS TO US THROUGH HIS HOLY WORD
4 For whatever is born of God overcomes the world. And this is the victory that has overcome the world—our faith. 5 Who is he who overcomes the world, but he who believes that Jesus is the Son of God? - 1 John 5:4-5(New King James Version).
GOD'S PROMISE TO US FROM HIS HOLY WORD
4 But when the fullness of the time had come, God sent forth His Son, born of a woman, born under the law, 5 to redeem those who were under the law, that we might receive the adoption as sons. - Galatians 5:4-5(New King James Version).

If you're a kitten, anything goes! - From Cats Rule -
NOTES
Today has been another hot day in McAlester, Oklahoma but not as hot as yesterday. High temperature today was 97 degrees with a low temperature of 73 degrees. I had lunch with Charley and Bill. I went to Country Mart briefly, then to the post office and then to Braums before coming home. I took my afternoon nap in my cool bedroom(thank you Lord for air conditioning and I really mean that). I watched the Jimmy Sturr musical show at 6:00 p.m. At about 6:40 p.m. I took fresh water and treats outside for the cats. Of course the cats can come in any time they wish but they expect to get their treats outside every evening. I do really appreciate those e-mails if you have time to write, no matter if you just want to say "Howdy" and that includes everyone reading this e-mail. More pictures tonight.
The cats are fine. Rascal was in a little while ago, Little Girl was in a little while ago, Leo just came in and meowed and that meant I needed to go give him a bite of canned cat food. Lucy came inside in the middle of the afternoon and ate canned and dryed cat food. She left out and was not there for the treats as she usually is.
I will see you next time,
In Christian Love, Everett.

NOTES
Today has been a sunny hot day in McAlester, Oklahoma, with a high temperature of 100 degrees and a low temperature of 61 degrees. At 10:00 a.m. I went to a funeral for Eldred Moore, age 89, a member of the church where Charley attends. I have known Eldred for 49 years. He went to Heaven to meet his wife whom he lost seven years ago. He will also meet his mother and father, Mr. & Mrs. I. E. Moore (some of you will remember them) who attended the church that I attend until they went to be with the Lord. I had lunch by myself today since Charley's church was preparing a meal for the family of Eldred Moore.
I took my nap in early afternoon. When I awoke, Smokey was in bed with me. At about 4:15 p.m. I had to make my weekly trip to the Petsense store and Walmart to pick up my weekly supply of cat food and human food for me. I bought gasoline at Walmart at $3.15 per gallon. At 6:15 p.m. I put treats outside for the cats but couldn't sit out due to the heat. Lucy the stray came while I was feeding the cats and she was quite hungry. It was the first time she had appeared today. I don't know why I keep calling her a stray because she comes every day for food but she usually doesn't stay too long. I will send three pictures tonight. I do appreciate your e-mails.
The cats are fine. None are with me at present but Leo was here just a few minutes ago. I sometimes wonder if in my writing about my cats if I have caused anyone to have a greater love and understanding of pets.

NOTES
Today has been a sunny day in McAlester, Oklahoma, but not quite as hot as yesterday. High temperature today was 98 degrees with a low of 73 degrees. Had lunch with Charley and Bill. Went to the post office and then to Braums for a couple of items. I have been home the rest of the day, mostly inside. I took my nap this afternoon with Little Girl. I put fresh water and treats outside for the cats at 5:45 p.m. but I came right back inside due to the heat. I watched a Billy Graham Classic Crusade at 6:00 p.m. The one that was shown tonight was from Halifax, Novia Scotia, in 1979. I will send three pictures tonight. I appreciate hearing from you. Remember if you would like to be dropped from Good Things, just send me an e-mail.
The cats are fine. They are elsewhere at the present time although Little Girl and Rascal were both inside a little while ago.
I will see you next time,

GOD SPEAKS TO US THROUGH HIS HOLY WORD
1This is what the Lord says: “Heaven is my throne, and the earth is my footstool. Where is the house you will build for me? Where will my resting place be? 2 Has not my hand made all these things, and so they came into being?” declares the Lord. “This is the one I esteem: he who is humble and contrite in spirit, and trembles at my word." - Isaiah 66:1-2(New International Version).
GOD'S PROMISE TO US FROM HIS HOLY WORD
(Jesus said) 7 “He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches. To him who overcomes I will give to eat from the tree of life, which is in the midst of the Paradise of God.” - Revelation 2:7(New King James Version).

Stop, look, listen for humans before napping in a laundry basket full of warm clothes. - From Cats Rule -,br /> No matter how large the workspace, the cat will want to sit right on top of what's being worked on. - From Cats Rule -
NOTES
Today has been another very hot sunny day in McAlester, Oklahoma. High temperature was 102 degrees with a low temperature of 73 degrees. I had lunch with Charley and Bill. I went by the post office and then by Walgreens to pick up a prescription. I took my afternoon nap with Smokey. At 4:30 p.m. I went back to Walgreens for another prescription. I use two kinds of eye drops in my eyes for Glaucoma. While I was out I went on to Sonic to pick up my half priced hamburger. At 6:00 p.m. I put out treats and fresh water for the cats but couldn't stay out long due to the heat. I have been inside today except when I had to be outside. I will try to send three pictures again tonight.
The cats are fine. Rascal is asleep on the desk near me. He likes for me to pet him occasionally. Little Girl has been staying out a lot in the shade during the hot weather. I wonder if the air conditioning might be hard on her arthritis? Just a thought. I have seen all the cats today including Lucy.
I will see you next time,

GOD SPEAKS TO US THROUGH HIS HOLY WORD
8 Finally, brethren, whatever things are true, whatever things are noble, whatever things are just, whatever things are pure, whatever things are lovely, whatever things are of good report, if there is any virtue and if there is anything praiseworthy—meditate on these things. - Philippians 4:8(New King James Version).
GOD'S PROMISE TO US FROM HIS HOLY WORD
11 As you know, we consider blessed those who have persevered. You have heard of Job’s perseverance and have seen what the Lord finally brought about. The Lord is full of compassion and mercy. - James 5:11(New Interantional Version).

A human toe twitching under a bedspread is fair game to chase and attack. - From Cats Rule - Cats don't look at people, they look into them. - From Cats Rule -
,br /> NOTES
You already received part of the Good Things. I hit the send button by mistake. I think I am getting slower as I get older and as I have said before, I probably ramble a lot in my notes. Hitting the send button tonight before I was ready is an example of what is happening to me. It has been another hot day in McAlester, Oklahoma. High temperature today was 101 degrees with a low temperature of 68 degrees. The forecast is for another week of this hot weather. I guess I have felt better today. I had lunch with Charley. I went to the post office and then to Walgreens to check on a prescription. I took my afternoon nap with Little Girl and Smokey. I put treats outside for the cats and fresh water but I didn't sit out due to the heat. I have been staying inside except when I have to go outside. I will try to send three pictures tonight.
The cats are fine. Rascal is asleep on the desk beside my computer. I have seen all the cats today including Lucy the stray. A little while ago I heard some loud meowing. I went to see who it was and it was Smokey with a grasshopper. He laid it on the floor and then moved away so some one else could have it. Every time Smokey catches something and brings it in he always lets out those loud meows like a mama cat calling her kittens.
I will see you next time,
In Christian Love, Everett.
