GOD SPEAKS TO US THROUGH HIS HOLY WORD
3 The LORD is slow to anger but great in power; the LORD will not leave the guilty unpunished. His way is in the whirlwind and the storm, and clouds are the dust of his feet. - Nahum 1:3(New International Version).
GOD'S PROMISE TO US FROM HIS HOLY WORD,br /> 31 Jesus answered them, “It is not the healthy who need a doctor, but the sick. 32 I have not come to call the righteous, but sinners to repentance.” - Luke 5:31-32(New International Version).
A QUOTE
The times when God seems anonymous may very well be the times that He is doing His deepest work within us. - Dennis King -
THOUGHTS TO REMEMBER
Never put off until tomorrow a kindness you can do today. - From Reminisce Magazine - The best time to do something is between yesterday and tomorrow. - From Reminisce Magazine -
NOTES
I attended Worship Service this morning. The title of Pastor J. T.'s sermon was "Will The Circle Be Unbroken". I had lunch at home. I took a nap this afternoon. Rascal came and joined me before I got up. I listened to the Lawrence Welk show from 5:00 p.m. to 5:45 when I left for church. I attended church tonight which was Missionary Night. I fed the cats their treats outside at 7:10 p.m. There will not be a story tonight as I am running late and still have to get the garbage ready and on the curb for pick up in the morning. The cats are fine. Little Girl just went outside and the others have been coming and going. Today has been a cloudy day with a high temperature of 81 degrees. Low temperature for today is the current temperature of 67 degrees. We have been having some light rain since around 7:30 p.m. this evening.
I will see you next time, In Christian Love, Everett.

GOD SPEAKS TO US THROUGH HIS HOLY WORD
9 Two are better than one, because they have a good return for their labor: 10 If either of them falls down, one can help the other up. But pity anyone who falls and has no one to help them up. - Ecclesiastes 4:9-10(New International Version).
GOD'S PROMISE TO US FROM HIS HOLY WORD
(The Apostle Paul wrote) 8 "Now there is in store for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous Judge, will award to me on that day—and not only to me, but also to all who have longed for his appearing." - 2 Timothy 4:8(New International Version).

NOTES
I had lunch by myself today. Charley was at a church meeting. I went by the post office and then by Braums for a couple of items. I took my nap in early afternoon with Smokey. My houscleaning lady came at 4:00 p.m. and cleaned my house. My back was hurting a little so I lay down again and took another little nap. This time Little Girl napped with me with Rascal and Beau also coming by to check on me. I went out about 6:45 p.m. to the back yard and sat with the cats. I read until it got dark and then continued to sit out until 7:30 p.m. The cats are fine. Little Girl on the arm of the couch. Friendly, Rascal and Tony have each been by since I have been doing the Good Things.
My daughter, June, mentioned that she would like me to include some stories in the Good Things of times in my life. I wrote a few little one page stories a few years ago and I might include one in the Good Things when I have the time. Here is a little story for tonight.
BEGINNINGS
I had my earthly beginning on August 23, 1925 in a house in the country about five miles southwest of a little village called Ashland, Oklahoma. At that time this little village had two or three grocery stores, two or three service stations, one or two garages to work on cars and a school with grades through the 12th grade. It even had a doctor and a bank at one time. Today you can not even buy a coke in that little village. Back when I was born most of the country folks didn't have automobiles to drive to the big towns like McAlester to shop. The roads were not paved like they are today. Houses in the country had no electricity, no inside plumbing and no telephones. Water came from a well, spring or cistern. The little community where I was born was called Legal. Back then there was a little country school about every three or four miles. I lived on a farm for the first eighteen years of my life, part of the time during the Great Depression. These years on the farm helped to shape my life. The beginning of my marriage happened on May 25, 1946. I married a girl that I learned to love after my return from the United States Army on January 16, 1946. When she married me her name was changed from Flonnie Manry to Flonnie Christian. To our marriage were born three children, two girls and a boy. Our children's names are Treva, June and Ronald. That marriage lasted 61 years and 9 months until Flonnie died on February 24, 2008 at 83 years of age. Well this is a beginning of some more stories as time permits.
************************************************** Now to continue with the Good Things:
Today has been a sunny day with a high temperature of 86 degrees. Low temperature this morning was 71 degrees. At 9:40 p.m. skies are clear with a temperature of 74 degrees. There is rain going on in the western half of Oklahoma and that is where it is needed most. It may reach McAlester sometime tomorrow afternoon or night. I will see you next time. Have a Wonderful Sunday. Your comments are always welcome, pro or con.

GOD SPEAKS TO US THROUGH HIS HOLY WORD
14 And we urge you, brothers and sisters, warn those who are idle and disruptive, encourage the disheartened, help the weak, be patient with everyone. - 1 Thessalonians 5:14(New International Version).
GOD'S PROMISE TO US FROM HIS HOLY WORD
(Jesus said) 29 "And everyone who has left houses or brothers or sisters or father or mother or wife or children or fields for my sake will receive a hundred times as much and will inherit eternal life." - Matthew 19:29(New International Version).

A THOUGHT TO REMEMBER
It's easier to go down a hill than up, but the view is better from the top. - From Reminisce Magazine -
NOTES
First of all I will tell you that I will continue the Good Things every day for now. I prayed about it, I read your responses and I thought about it a lot the past 24 hours. I feel good with the Lord about my decision and that is the most important thing. Thanks to everyone who responded to my question and thanks to everyone who reads the Good Things. Today, I had lunch with Charley and came by the post office. I took my afternoon nap with Rascal napping with me. Around 6:30 p.m. I sat out with the cats for about 30 minutes, fed them their treats and food, put out fresh water for them, read a little and enjoyed the company of my cats. As always, if you would like to be dropped from the Good Things, send me an e-mail. Your comments are always welcome, pro or con. The cats are fine. Little Girl is on the arm of the couch. Rascal was by a little while ago. Tony has been by for a bite of food. Today has been partly cloudy with a high temperature of 87 degrees. Low temperature this morning was 71 degrees. At 9:25 p.m. skies are clear with a temperature of 77 degrees. I will see you next time,
In Christian Love, Everett.

NOTES
I had lunch with Charley and Bill. I went to the post office, then to Walmart, then to the Petsense store. I took a nap this afternoon. I went out to the back yard with the cats at about 6:20 p.m. and came back inside when it was getting dark a little after 7:00 p.m. I would like to have you answer this question: What would be your thoughts to the idea of getting the Good Things only once a week instead of every day after tomorrow's Good Things? Let me know how you feel about it by tomorrow evening and be perfectly honest. The cats are fine. Little Girl on the arm of the couch. Rascal coming in occasionally. The others are either sleeping or doing things that cats do in the evening. Today has been partly cloudy with a high temperature of 86 degrees. Low temperature last night was 66 degrees just after midnight. At 9:40 p.m. skies are clear with a temperture of 77 degrees.

GOD SPEAKS TO US THROUGH HIS HOLY WORD

GOD'S PROMISE TO US FROM HIS HOLY WORD

NOTES
I had lunch with my friend Bill today. My brother, Charley, had a luncheon at his church. I went to the post office. I had an appointment with Dr. Dunagen, my eye doctor, at 1:15 p.m. He said my eyes were about the same and wants to see me in 6 more months. I then went to Gary McKnight's law office and picked up the papers he had prepared for me. As far as I know now I have everyting in order for the kids when the Lord decides to take me home. I was a little late again with my nap today. I went out with the cats about 6:20 and read until a little after 7:00. The cats are fine. Little Girl is on her blanket on the couch now but she has been stirring around some tonight. Rascal comes around quite often and is here now. Tony from across the street came by for a bite of food a little while ago and wanted me to pet him on the head before he ate. I heard a cat meowing a little while ago. I thought that must be Smokey bringing in something. Sure enough I went and looked and he laid a grasshopper on the floor and walked away like it was a present for me. I took the grasshopper back outside. Today has been partly cloudy with a high temperature of 83 degrees. Low temperature this morning was 58 degrees. At 9:25 p.m. skies are partly cloudy with a temperature of 62 degrees.
I will see you next time, In Christian Love, Everett.
