Good Things
by Everett Christin, McAlester, OK
GOD SPEAKS TO US THROUGH HIS HOLY WORD
1 For we know that when this earthly tent we live in is taken down (that is, when we die and leave this earthly body), we will have a house in heaven, an eternal body made for us by God himself and not by human hands. 2 We grow weary in our present bodies, and we long to put on our heavenly bodies like new clothing. 3 For we will put on heavenly bodies; we will not be spirits without bodies. 4 While we live in these earthly bodies, we groan and sigh, but it’s not that we want to die and get rid of these bodies that clothe us. Rather, we want to put on our new bodies so that these dying bodies will be swallowed up by life. - 2 Corinthians 5:1-4(New Living Translation).
GOD'S PROMISE TO US FROM HIS HOLY WORD
29 People with understanding control their anger;
a hot temper shows great foolishness.
- Proverbs 14:29(New Living Translation).
A QUOTE
Conduct is what we do; character is what we are.

THOUGHTS TO REMEMBER
I've learned that whenever I decide something with kindness, I usually make the right decision.
- Age 66, Wisdom Through The Ages -
No cowboy was ever faster on the draw than a grandmother pulling baby pictures out of her purse.
- From Reminisce Magazine -
Winners look for opportunities, losers wait for lucky breaks.
- From Reminisce Magazine -
We are witnesses to Christ's resurrection through the eyes of faith.

NOTES
Today has been mostly cloudy with a high temperature of 58 degrees which occured just after midnight. Low temperature this morning was 47 degrees. We had thunderstorms last night from around 7:30 p.m. to around 11:00 p.m. We received around 3 inchs of precipitation. My pastor, J. T. Carnell, had lunch with Charley, June, and me today. June and I went to the post office, Country Mart, and Mays Drug Store. At about 1:15 p.m. we took Smokey to the vet for his annual exam and vaccinations. He was not very happy about the situation. After we came home he stayed under the storage buliding for a while. June left for home a little after 2:00 p.m. At about 2:30 p.m. I went to the back door and called Smokey and he came inside and took a nap with me. He has been unusually friendly with me tonight for some reason. I have up to date cat pictures starting tonight. The picture tonight is Smokey. I heard from June around 6:00 p.m. She made it home safely to Yukon, Oklahoma. She will visit again before moving to Hawaii about the middle of June.
The cats are fine. Little Girl is on the couch and Rascal in the recliner. The others have been around sometime during the evening.
At 10:20 p.m. skies are fair with a temperature of 53 degrees. I will see you next time (probably Sunday night).
In Christian Love, Everett.
