Good Things

by    Everett Christian,   McAlester, OK

GOD SPEAKS TO US THROUGH HIS HOLY WORD

 5 You (Lord) prepare a table before me
   in the presence of my enemies.
You anoint my head with oil;
   my cup overflows.
- Psalm 23:5(New International Version).

GOD'S PROMISE TO US FROM HIS HOLY WORD

22 Then, turning to his disciples, Jesus said, “That is why I tell you not to worry about everyday life—whether you have enough food to eat or enough clothes to wear. 23 For life is more than food, and your body more than clothing. 24 Look at the ravens. They don’t plant or harvest or store food in barns, for God feeds them. And you are far more valuable to him than any birds!"  - Luke 12:22-24(New Living Translation).

NOTES

Today has been a sunny day with a high temperature of 71 degrees.  Low temperature last night was 38 degrees.  I had lunch with Charley.  We visited with Charles Isenhower today at Taco Bobs.  After lunch Charley and I went to Stuart, Oklahoma, 20 miles west of McAlester.  We visited with our brother, Abe Christian, who is 92 years of age.  We then visited with our brother-in-law, O. V. McNutt and his son, Denton.  O. V. is 92 years of age and Denton is 69.  Denton and his wife, Carol, own land and cattle around that part of the country.  I went to city hall and paid my water bill and then to the post office.  I got back home around 4:00 p.m. and I still had time to take a nap.  I hope everyone had a Happy Valentine's Day.

The cats are fine.  Little Girl is snuggled in her balnket.  Emmy and Rascal have been here in the den but have now gone elsewhere.  All our cats are accounted for tonight.

At 9:15 p.m. skies are fair with a temperature of 47 degrees.  I will see you next time.
