Good Things

GOD SPEAKS TO US THROUGH HIS HOLY WORD

16 Confess your sins to each other and pray for each other so that you may be healed. The earnest prayer of a righteous person has great power and produces wonderful results.  - James 5:16(New Living Translation).

GOD'S PROMISE TO US FROM HIS HOLY WORD

(Jesus said) 12 “If a man has a hundred sheep and one of them wanders away, what will he do? Won’t he leave the ninety-nine others on the hills and go out to search for the one that is lost? 13 And if he finds it, I tell you the truth, he will rejoice over it more than over the ninety-nine that didn’t wander away! 14 In the same way, it is not my heavenly Father’s will that even one of these little ones should perish."  - Matthew 18:12-14(New Living Translation).

A QUOTE

It becomes not a Christian to do anything so trivial that he cannot pray over it.
- John Wesley -

THOUGHTS TO REMEMBER

Don't fly into a rage unless you are prepared for a rough landing.
- From Reminisce Magazine -

When you give until it hurts, it makes you feel good.

NOTES

Howdy Friends, Neighbors, Sisters, Brothers and Relatives.  It has been a long dry spell for the Good Things, hasn't it?  I was considering whether to start the Good Things again tonight when I went to my computer.  There was a message with the subject "I miss you soooo much! God's Blessings."  They didn't write anything, just the subject line.  I thought then that I really needed to get back online with the Good Things.  Satan has really given me a rough week but I am still trusting the Lord.  First of all I got sick on Wednesday with that terrible cold and throat condition.  I was resting on Thursday afternoon when I thought I could hear running water.  I got up and looked and my hot water tank had sprung a leak and was leaking on the carpet in the hallway.  I called and found a plumber who could come that afternoon and install a new hot water tank.  While the plumber was working on the hot water tank I was lying in bed and decided to call the insurance company about the wet carpet.  They sent someone down from Muskogee about 6:00 p.m. to dry the carpet.  The man from Muskogee dried the carpet as best he could and then put 7 big fans in the hallway and bathroom and one bedroom.  It sounded like a tornado.  I couldn't sleep in the main part of the house for the noise so I slept out here in the den on Little Girl's couch.  She kept me company all night.  I was still feeling very bad.  The man from Muskogee came back the next day just before noon.  I told him I wanted those fans out of my house before bedtime because I had to sleep on a couch in the den.  He immediately removed the fans and left.  The carpet was dry by then.  The insurance adjuster came on Monday and they are still working on my claim.  On Tuesday of this week it was very cold but I felt like going to Taco Bob's for lunch so I went to my car and it wouldn't start.  Charley was already at Bob's so I called down there and had him come pick me up so I could have lunch with him.  Later that day I took the van to the Ford Garage and had to have a new battery installed.  On top of all that I went to the doctor last Friday.  So you see it has been an interesting week for me, but as I said I am still trusting the Lord.

If you want to continue to receive the Good Things send me a note in the next three days.  If I don't hear from you I will drop you off because I will assume you don't want them.

The picture tonight was made at Moore with Little Girl.  In the background you can see the fence I had installed with the netting on top to keep my cats in the yard.  Friendly always found a way to get out in spite of the fence.

The cats are fine.  Little Girl on the couch and Rascal on a desk close to me.

I will see you next time.

In Christian Love,
Everett.

Everett, I think the devil has been working overtime on a number of us!  May have something to do with the cold weather as well!  Isn't it marvelous that God's grace is sufficient!  Praise His holy name! Expecting to see Good Things as you write and send them.
