GOD SPEAKS TO US THROUGH HIS HOLY WORD

5 For the more we suffer for Christ, the more God will shower us with his comfort through Christ.
- 2 Corinthians 1:5(New Living Translation).

GOD'S PROMISE TO US FROM HIS HOLY WORD

12 Dear friends, don’t be surprised at the fiery trials you are going through, as if something strange were happening to you. 13 Instead, be very glad—for these trials make you partners with Christ in his suffering, so that you will have the wonderful joy of seeing his glory when it is revealed to all the world.  - 1 Peter 4:12-13(New Living Translation).

A PRAYER

Lord Jesus, I come to you for comfort.  Even my closest friends disappoint me at times, but you will never fail me.  You are my dearest Friend, and I ask that You comfort me now.  Amen.  - From Light For My Path For Grandparents -

A QUOTE

Above all, desire to please Christ; dread His disapproval above everything else.
- Rowland Croucher -

THOUGHTS TO REMEMBER

A book shut tight is but a block of paper.
- From Reminisce Magazine -

You can't change the direction of the wind, but you can adjust your sails.
- From Reminisce Magazine -

NOTES

Today has been mostly cloudy with a high temperature of 61 degrees in McAlester, Oklahoma.  I had lunch with Charley and Bill.  I went by the post office.  I took my nap in early afternoon with Rascal and I think another cat or two might have joined us.  I went to Walmart about 4:00 p.m. for cat food and other items.  I put out treats and food for the cats about 5:15 p.m.  I suppose some people think I am a silly senile old man for loving and living with cats.  These cats have been my family since Flonnie went to Heaven and the cats love me and I love them.  The picture tonight is Itty Bitty licking her lips.  In the background you can see a portrait of Flonnie and me before we had gray hair.  At the end of the Good Things tonight is a note from my granddaughter, Carissa, reporting on Devon's condition.  We appreciate the prayers that have been prayed for Devon.  If at any time you would like to be dropped from the Good Things send me an e-mail and I will understand.

The cats are fine.

At 10:30 p.m. skies are cloudy with a temperature of 48 degrees.  I will see you next time.

In Christian Love, Everett.

Here is Carissa's note:

Devon is doing better. He can walk now without dizziness, he still gets headaches a lot. Today was his first day back at school. He has another CT scan coming up to make sure his brain and skull have not gotten worse. We love you!

Love,  Carissa
