GOD SPEAKS TO US THROUGH HIS HOLY WORD

11 Dear friends, I warn you as “temporary residents and foreigners” to keep away from worldly desires that wage war against your very souls. 12 Be careful to live properly among your unbelieving neighbors. Then even if they accuse you of doing wrong, they will see your honorable behavior, and they will give honor to God when he judges the world.  - 1 Peter 2:11-12(New Living Translation).

GOD'S PROMISE TO US FROM HIS HOLY WORD

6 So be truly glad. There is wonderful joy ahead, even though you have to endure many trials for a little while. 7 These trials will show that your faith is genuine. It is being tested as fire tests and purifies gold—though your faith is far more precious than mere gold. So when your faith remains strong through many trials, it will bring you much praise and glory and honor on the day when Jesus Christ is revealed to the whole world.  - 1 Peter 1:6-7(New Living Translation).

NOTES

Today has been a cloudy day with rain off and on since around 11:00 a.m.  We had a heavy thunderstorm around 4:30 p.m.  We needed the rain.  High temperatures today were around 70 degrees.  I had lunch with Charley and my pastor, J. T. Carnell.  I came by the post office.  I took a nap this afternoon with Emmy and Leo(cats).  I went to Walmart around 4:00 p.m.  The thunderstorm came up while I was in Walmart and I almost got wet going to my car.  I bought a Little Caesars pizza for supper.  I have enough pizza left for a couple of more meals.  I didn't get to sit out with the cats due to the rain but I did put out food for the strays.  I have been writing about Little Girl on the back of the couch.  That is the picture tonight.  I still need to hear from some people that I haven't heard from in over a month if you are reading the Good Things.

The cats are fine.  Little Girl and Rascal just went outside.  Smokey just came in.  The cats have been staying in due to the rain.

At 9:45 p.m. there is still a little light rain falling with a temperature of 47 degrees.  I will see you next time.

In Christian Love, Everett.
