A QUOTE

Blessed is the influence of one true, loving human soul on another.

THOUGHTS TO REMEMBER

A man of stature doesn't need status.
- From Reminisce Magazine -

Our main business is not to see what lies dimly at a distance, but to do what lies clearly at hand.

NOTES

Today has been a sunny day with high temperatures in the mid sixties.  The Good Things didn't go out last night.  June and I were visiting here in the den last night and listening to some old time music.  June and I had lunch today with Charley.  We went to the post office and later to Family Dollar Store and Walmart.  June left for home in Yukon, Oklahoma, around 2:15 p.m.  She called me about 5:30 p.m. to tell me she made it home safe and sound.  After June left I took a nap.  I sat out for a few minutes this evening with the cats.  I had an e-mail from one of my e-mail friends suggesting that someone take a picture of me sleeping with the cats.  Well, June made a picture of the cats and me and that is the picture tonight.  Rascal is snuggling in front of me, Itty Bitty is near my feet and Smokey is in back of me.  All four of us were really snoozing.  Emmy was also on the bed but left out when June started to take the picture.

Thanks for the prayers for Devon.  I received another e-mail from Carissa this evening.  I will post it at the end of the Good Things.  I am not sure as to Devon's age but it is in the neighborhood of 12 to 14.

The cats are fine.  Yesterday afternoon, June and I took Leo for his annual examination and vaccinations.  He was really unhappy about going to the vet.  When we got home I guess he was mad at us.  He went to the back fence, climbed over it and went marching down the alley.  I guess he pouted all night because he didn't come home until this evening when I went out to sit with the cats.  I did see him about 2:00 p.m. today about three houses down the alley.  He is okay now and has been in tonight eating and doing his usual things.  He is a beautiful cat with a fluffy tail so someone might try to adopt him if he doesn't stay home.  All cats are different.  You never know what is on their mind.

At 10:20 p.m. skies are fair with a temperature of 51 degrees.  Have a Wonderful Sunday.  I will see you next time.

Here is Carissa's letter:
Devon is home today, he still has swelling in his head but it is going down. He is having a hard time walking due to the swelling pressing against his nerves. He can talk clearly now, his speech was slurred. He still has a lot of pain. He will have another CT scan on Monday to monitor the swelling. Thank you for all the prayers! He still has some healing to do but I think he will be just fine! Thank you Jesus! Love, Carissa
