GOD SPEAKS TO US THROUGH HIS HOLY WORD
14 So then, since we have a great High Priest who has entered heaven, Jesus the Son of God, let us hold firmly to what we believe. 15 This High Priest of ours understands our weaknesses, for he faced all of the same testings we do, yet he did not sin. - Hebrews 4:14-15(New Living Translation).
GOD'S PROMISE TO US FROM HIS HOLY WORD
24 May God’s grace be eternally upon all who love our Lord Jesus Christ.
- Ephesians 6:24(New Living Translation).
A PRAYER WHEN IN TROUBLE
Dear God, I'm facing a difficulty again. Remind me that you are bigger than anything I have to confront in my life. Help me to learn from this hardship, so that I can encourage others who may also face this adversity. Amen. - From Light For My Path for Grandparents.
A QUOTE
Expect trouble as an inevitable part of life and repeat to yourself the most comforting words of all: "This, too, shall pass."

NOTES
Today has been a sunny cool day with high temperatures in the mid sixties. I attended Sunday School and Worship Service this morning. I had lunch at home. I took a nap this afternoon. I attended church tonight. I had notes from Burlene, Cathy Perks, Debra, Geneva and Nan. I will leave you some notes at the end of the Good Things from three of the people I heard from. Always remember most of the Good Things are taken from other sources. The Scripture is from the Word of God, the rest is from some other source, the only thing from me is the notes. So don't give me credit for anything except the notes.
The cats are fine. Rascal snuggled with me this afternoon as I took my nap. Emmy was also on the bed. It seems the cats are staying in more since the weather has cooled down.
At 10:20 p.m. skies are fair with a temperature of 47 degrees. I will see you next time.
In Christian Love, Everett.
Here are the quotes from the e-mails:

This is a Scripture from last night:
(Jesus said) 1"Do not let your hearts be troubled. Trust in God; trust also in me. 2In my Father's house are many rooms; if it were not so, I would have told you. I am going there to prepare a place for you. 3And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come back and take you to be with me that you also may be where I am. 4You know the way to the place where I am going." - John 14:1-4(New International Version).
From Burlene:
I have had a troubled heart tonight, so when I opened the
GOOD THINGS, the first words were, "Let not your heart
be troubled". I have mentioned before that at times the
scriptures you send seem to be just what I need at the time.
Thanks for the GOOD THINGS..........BW

This is scripture from last night:
10 This is real love—not that we loved God, but that he loved us and sent his Son as a sacrifice to take away our sins. - 1 John 4:10(New Living Translation).
From Nan:
Oh my goodness! Your timing and your verse was perfect!! Just this afternoon, my daughter, Ashley and I came up with an idea for a new calendar to design with photos of pretty decorated tables with a cup included and Bible verses printed under the photos. It is called A Cup of Blessings and you have just provided me with the perfect verse for the month of February!
The one from 1 John about real love!! This is so exciting to hear God speaking through you to provide this verse and I didn't have to search my Bible for it!!
This new calendar will be part of a fundraising project for our church in Nov...... No time to delay! Thank you so much for continuing The Good Things! You're such a blessing. Love you, Nan
From Geneva commenting on this verse:
I never cease to marvel at that!!! It is too wonderful to comprehend!
