GOD SPEAKS TO US THROUGH HIS HOLY WORD
1 So get rid of all evil behavior. Be done with all deceit, hypocrisy, jealousy, and all unkind speech. 2 Like newborn babies, you must crave pure spiritual milk so that you will grow into a full experience of salvation. Cry out for this nourishment, 3 now that you have had a taste of the Lord’s kindness. - 1 Peter 2:1-3(New Living Translation)
GOD'S PROMISE TO US FROM HIS HOLY WORD
19 God is not a man, so he does not lie.
He is not human, so he does not change his mind.
Has he ever spoken and failed to act?
Has he ever promised and not carried it through?
- Numbers 23:19(New Living Translation).

NOTES
Today has been partly cloudy with high temperatures in the low nineties. I had lunch with Charley and then to the post office and on to a Dollar General Store. I got my lawn mowed and my house cleaned this afternoon. So if you want to come see me you might ought to come tomorrow while my house is clean. It will not be cleaned again for two weeks. I didn't receive many comments from my story last night about where Rascal came from. I didn't get an "Amen," neither did I get an "Oh Me." Maybe I should stop writing about Flonnie and me because she is not here to correct me if I get something wrong. I will say that she was the best cook, homemaker, mother and wife that a man could ever have. When she would be riding in the van with me and I cut a corner too short and hit the curb she would always say "You Curbed It." I hit a curb today and how I wished that I could have heard "You Curbed It." The picture tonight is Ron sitting with Smokey, Beau, Emmy and I am not sure who the other cat is.
Here is my story for tonight:
Tomorrow is Sunday, a day that I, along with many other people observe as the Sabbath. My father died in 1929 when I was four years of age. My mother never remarried after that. We lived on a farm and many times we would have to work six days in the week. I never remember a time when we had to work on a Sunday, no matter how badly the the farm work needed to be done. My mother always took us to the little country church on Sunday. I left the farm in 1943 at the age of 18 to go into the Army. From that time until I was 28 years of age my attendance at church was sporadic or not at all. In 1946 I married Flonnie. In 1947 our first daughter, Treva, was born. In 1948, our second daughter, June, was born. In May, 1953, our son, Ronald, was born. During all those years I seldom attended church. Many times on Sunday, I would sit at home and read the Sunday paper while someone else would take my little girls to Sunday School and church. That all changed in September, 1953, when I accepted Jesus as my Lord and Savior and became a Born Again Christian. Since that time there have been very few Sundays that I have not been in church. I believe that God has given me reasonably good health because I have honored Him all these years by attending church when the doors are open. That is my story for tonight.
The cats are fine. Rascal has been coming in occasionally to check on me.
At 10:45 p.m. skies are fair with a temperature of 75 degrees. Have a Wonderful, Worshipful, Restful Sunday. I will see you tomorrow if the Lord is willing.
In Christian Love, Everett.
