GOD SPEAKS TO US THROUGH HIS HOLY WORD

2 Honor the Lord for the glory of his name.
Worship the Lord in the splendor of his holiness.
-Psalm 29:2(New Living Translation).

GOD'S PROMISE TO US FROM HIS HOLY WORD

(The Apostle Paul wrote) 17 "For our present troubles are small and won’t last very long. Yet they produce for us a glory that vastly outweighs them and will last forever! 18 So we don’t look at the troubles we can see now; rather, we fix our gaze on things that cannot be seen. For the things we see now will soon be gone, but the things we cannot see will last forever."  - 2 Corinthians 4:17-18(New Living Translation).

THOUGHTS TO REMEMBER

Consider that you're really too blessed to be stressed.

Yesterday is but today's memory and tomorrow is today's dream.

NOTES

It rained at my house this morning for about five minutes and that was all the rain for today.  The day has been mostly cloudy with high temperatures in the mid eighties.  As usual I had lunch at Taco Bob's with my brother Charley.  As most of you know Charley lost his wife about 11 months ago and I lost my Flonnie two and one half years ago.  Living alone is not easy but I have my cats to keep me company.  My wife and I lived together for 61 years and 9 months.  We were never apart for more than two weeks.  That happened when I was in the Army Reserves and went on summer training for two weeks.  It has really been rough the past two years trying to get along without Flonnie and it is still rough.  I will always miss her until the Lord calls me to join her.  Sometimes I get to thinking that maybe it is time to retire the Good Things.  I have been sending out Bible Verses for several years but it hasn't always been called the "Good Things."  When Flonnie went to Heaven I stopped the Good Things for a while but later started them again.  I will probably continue them until I send out all the pictures that we made Labor Day week-end.  After all I am only 85 years of age.  When I read the obits most of them are younger than me so the Lord is keeping me around for something.  When it gets to the time that I can't take care of my cats then I will be ready to move on out of this world to a much better place and meet Jesus and my Flonnie.  Am I boring you?  Maybe that is why I should retire the Good Things.  The picture tonight is Lucy, the stray that I tamed and have been feeding for several years.  She is around most of the time but she won't sleep in the house.

The cats are fine.  Rascal is lying in the floor not far from my chair on his back showing his white fuzzy belly.  The only way to really get cats, dogs or any animal to really love you is to let them know that they are not inferior to you.  Cats are inside animals so you shoud let them love you, sit in your lap and sleep with you if they want to.  They will then trust you with their lives and will never be afraid to come to you.

At 10:35 p.m. skies are fair with a temperature of 75 degrees.  I will see you tomorrow if the Lord is willing.
