GOD SPEAKS TO US THROUGH HIS HOLY WORD

14 Work at living in peace with everyone, and work at living a holy life, for those who are not holy will not see the Lord.  - Hebrews 12:14(New Living Translation).

GOD'S PROMISE TO US FROM HIS HOLY WORD

11 My child, don’t reject the Lord’s discipline,
and don’t be upset when he corrects you.
12 For the Lord corrects those he loves,
just as a father corrects a child in whom he delights.
- Proverbs 3:11-12(New Living Translation).

A QUOTE

God is a specialist; He is well able to work our failures into His plans. . . . Often the doorway to success is entered through the hallway of failure.  - Erwin W. Lutzer -

THOUGHTS TO REMEMBER

If you need a doctor on a Friday afternoon, join the local golf club. (With apologies to Dr. Phil Washburn).
- From Reminisce Magazine -

The misfortunes hardest to bear are those that never come.

NOTES

Today has been mostly cloudy with high temperatures in the mid eighties.  The usual day, lunch, Country Mart, Charley's home and Walgreens.  A nap this afternoon.  I sat with the cats for a couple of hours this evening, reading until it got dark, then I trimmed a few limbs and got real tired.  I sat out for a few more minutes.  Several of the cats always stay until I come in with maybe a stray or two also around.  Rascal is usually near me in a chair or lying on the ground close to my chair.  I enjoy doing the Good Things but sometimes I am a little tired.  I have been reading from the Bible in the Book of Acts lately how they tried their best to kill the Apostle Paul but he just kept on preaching the Gospel.*  I wonder how many of us would keep working for the Lord if we were threatened with harm.  It is something to think about because that could happen the way they are trying to suppress the name of Jesus in lots of public places.

The cats are fine.  Little Girl on the couch and Rascal just left out.

At 11:25 p.m. skies are fair with a temperature of 82 degrees.  I will see you next time.

In Christian Love, Everett.

*(Neither the Bible nor other history says how or when Paul died. According to Christian tradition, Paul was beheaded in Rome during the reign of Nero around the mid-60s at Tre Fontane Abbey.  - From The Internet -)
