GOD SPEAKS TO US THROUGH HIS HOLY WORD

19 How great is the goodness
you (O Lord) have stored up for those who fear you.
You lavish it on those who come to you for protection,
blessing them before the watching world.
20 You hide them in the shelter of your presence,
safe from those who conspire against them.
You shelter them in your presence,
      far from accusing tongues.
- Psalm 31:19-20(New Living Translation).

GOD'S PROMISE TO US FROM HIS HOLY WORD

26 If you claim to be religious but don’t control your tongue, you are fooling yourself, and your religion is worthless. 27 Pure and genuine religion in the sight of God the Father means caring for orphans and widows in their distress and refusing to let the world corrupt you.  - James 1:26-27(New Living Translation).

A QUOTE

Life is much like a vapor; it appears, and soon it is gone.  Let us leave something eternal for others to build and stand on.  - Harold W. Turner -

THOUGHTS TO REMEMBER

A Sabbath well spent brings a week of content.
- Author Unknown -

It takes less time to do a thing right than it takes to explain why you did it wrong.
- From Reminisce Magazine -

NOTES

Today has been partly cloudy with high temperatures in the mid eighties.  Since I live alone, I have an arrangement with my family that I will call my daughter, Treva, every morining at 8:30 a.m. to let her know that I am okay.  If I don't call her she starts trying to call me.  This morning I got up at 6:30 a.m. and knew that it would be two hours before I called Treva.  I came out here to the den and forgot to bring the phone and then got busy on the computer and completely forgot to call Treva.  At 9:00 a.m. she tried to call me but the phone was in the living room and I am in the den and I couldn't hear it.  Treva tried several times to call me but there was no answer so she got real concerned and called my borther, Charley, to come check on me.  He has a key to my house.  He was also very concerned because he too had tried to call me earlier to tell me that we needed to eat at an earlier time than usual.  About the time Charley arrived at my house around 9:30 a.m. I remembered that I hadn't called Treva.  She had left me a message on the phone but she was quite upset when I called her but happy that I was okay.  Oh the joy of getting old!  After lunch I went by the post office and a couple of stores.  I came home and rested for a while and about the middle of the afternoon I went to the back yard and trimmed some bushes and trees.  This evening I sat with the cats in  the back yard for an hour or so.

The cats are fine.  Leo and Rascal are asleep on the back porch and the rest are outside at present.

At 10:45 p.m. skies are fair with a temperature of 78 degrees.  I hope everyone has a Wonderful Sunday.  I will see you next time.

In Christian Love, Everett.
